She teamed a pair of black tapered leg trousers with some very chic black mule heels, adding tortoiseshell shades, hoop earrings and a leather tote bag. But it was her embroidered blouse that really spoke to me. It's got a very Meryl in Mamma Mia! vibe to it, don't you think? It really reminds me of the tops her character wears underneath her iconic dungarees!

If you're searching for stylish tops to wear with jeans, particularly in the hot weather, this blouse has got your name written all over it. It's loose and flowy, with just the right amount of detail to tick the boho trend off your list. In black and white, it will fit seamlessly into your wardrobe, plus the frill collar is a really nice touch.

How to style yours

It sounds so simple, but investing in a top can really freshen up your wardrobe for the new season. woman&home's Fashion Editor Rivkie Baum agrees, telling me: "Thanks to the resurgence of boho style, embroidered tops are a big part of this season's spring/summer fashion trends.

"A white shirt is a timeless capsule wardrobe buy, but the embroidered detail helps to bring this classic piece into 2025. The vertical stitch work on the front of the shirt helps to draw the eye down, creating a lengthened silhouette that is both elegant and flattering."

<![CDATA[ Julia Roberts' vintage-style athleisure co-ord is inspiring our airport outfits this summer ]]> Basking in some rare UK sunshine, Julia Roberts' recent Instagram post featured her wearing a luxury athleisure ensemble by British designer Wales Boner. A first-class combination, the star looked relaxed and elegant in a navy zip-up tracksuit top with matching sporty wide-leg trousers as she soaked up some rays on a hotel rooftop.

Pairing the navy two-piece with some brown ballet flats from the celebrity-loved, Quiet Luxury brand, The Row. We couldn't help but think about how comfortable the star looked, and how this dressed-down two-piece was the perfect summer look for those looking for chic but cosy airport outfits. A great option for what to wear on a plane, Julia Roberts' was seen legs up on a chair, laidback in her stylish but unfussy set.

Choosing the right airport outfit can set the entire mood of your holiday, so finding an outfit formula that looks elevated yet keeps you comfortable from departures to arrivals is essential. And if over the years you've tried and tested combinations that have left you uncomfortable or just underwhelmed, we think Julia's athleisure is the inspiration we needed with holiday's on the horizon.

Shop Julia Roberts' Outfit

When it comes to laidback, but put-together looks, an athleisure co-ord is a soft, comfortable alternative to your favourite jeans and jumper, making it a perfect choice for optimal travel comfort. Delivering a sporty feel ensures comfort, while the matching top and bottom ensure that, despite its relaxed nature, it still looks put together, all without compromising on long-haul comfort.

Opting for dark colours or vintage-inspired silhouettes can make your two-piece look elevated, ideal for navigating the terminal, yet comfortable enough for long-haul flights or airport queues.

Another standout feature of this outfit has to be the leather ballet flats, and despite Julia relaxing at her hotel, her footwear choice is still inspiring our plane ensembles. Offering slip-on ease at security, with no laces to undo, and just enough structure to feel like you’re not wearing slippers, ballet flats fall perfectly in line with the fashion shoe trends of 2025, as well as being a practical shoe choice for travelling. For maximum comfort, I would choose a pair with a cushioned sole and a slightly squared-off toe, for practicality and ease.

If, like me, you’ve been searching for elusive airport outfit inspiration – one that combines comfort, practicality, and a dash of style – Julia Roberts' athleisure look is the outfit formula you need. Where possible, opt for breathable fabrics and loose silhouettes for the ultimate airport attire, and simply finish with supple leather flats for an on-trend edge.

<![CDATA[ Forget sandals - Emilia Fox’s chunky trainers are a comfy option that goes surprisingly well with delicate florals ]]> Deciding what to wear in the heat that makes you still feel put-together can be a challenge and I find that footwear can be my downfall. I love dainty sandals, but if I’m doing a lot of walking or am going to be out for longer I want more support.

If you’ve ever worried that white trainers just aren’t the right pairing for flowing, delicate dresses, then Emilia Fox’s latest look should reassure you. The Silent Witness star recently paid a visit to Giffords Circus to watch the Laguna Bay performance and wore a breezy floral co-ord with chunky trainers.

They had a platform sole that added extra elevation in a much more manageable way than stiletto heels. Although we only got a glimpse of them underneath her maxi skirt in a photo shared on Instagram, I suspect that Emilia was wearing Converse.

The black line detailing running around the front and sides of the shoe is a classic Converse touch. If they were by this brand, they were likely the All Star Lift Hi in white, which has a platform sole and sporty high-rise style.

The outsole on this design is made from vulcanised rubber and the upper is canvas. Chunkier or platform trainers might not sound as easy to style as streamlined, plimsoll-esque ones, though they are just as versatile, especially if you choose a neutral tone like white.

They also feel a bit more contemporary and fashion-forward, whilst essentially still being just white trainers. You can wear them with exactly the same outfits you would pair with sleeker trainers and this includes whimsical, very feminine pieces like Emilia Fox’s co-ord (and many of her other seasonal favourites).

It might look like a dress at first glance but the actor stepped out in a matching set by Pink City Prints. The square-neck blouse and maxi skirt are both hand block-printed and are made from breathable cotton and trimmed with cotton lace.

The pattern is intricate and the neutral base colour means that the pink, coral and red flowers and green leaves stand out with their brightness. If you haven’t discovered the best wedding guest dress of the season for you, then a co-ord like this is a fabulous option.

Emilia wore the top tucked into the tiered skirt to create a smooth silhouette and you would never have known it wasn’t a one-piece. The outfit worked so well with her white chunky trainers, despite them being very different styles.

Part of the reason I think this is so successful is because the contrast between the sporty trainers and florals is noticeable and feels very intentional. This is important when you’re putting together an ensemble like hers.

If you opt for plimsolls, it could almost look like an attempt to match the elegance of the outfit without it being the same style. Chunky trainers embrace the difference instead and they’re a brilliant alternative to sandals.

You can also, of course, get a lot of wear out of them with linen trousers and jeans as well as more flowy pieces. Emilia Fox finished off her look for her time at Giffords Circus with white sunglasses and layered necklaces. It was summer comfort in an outfit and is one that I’d love to see her bring out again before the season is over.

<![CDATA[ Mariska Hargitay's figure-flattering wide-leg jeans and bouclé jacket outfit is the perfect smart-casual look ]]> Mariska Hargitay was one of many celebrities who attended "Through Her Lens": The Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Programme, and just like Olivia Munn, the TV star suggested that the era of the barrel leg jeans was over, opting instead for a light wash, wide-leg pair of jeans to anchor her look for the fashionable occasion.

Stepping out in a pair of high-waisted, light blue denims, Mariska added a pair of black rimmed sunglasses and added polish to her ensemble with a classic Chanel bouclé jacket. Completing her outfit with a timeless, tucked-in white tee, I was struck by just how chic and effortless the Law and Order actress looked, and how easy it is to recreate this French fashion brand-approved look.

Bouclé jackets have been everywhere this season, and are a brilliant piece of outerwear to add to a summer capsule wardrobe. The tailored jacket is light and feminine and makes a great switch out for a blazer when you want to feel a little more glam. Opting for all white, Mariska's look was perfect for high summer, and pairing it with a white t-shirt helped to keep the light reflected against her face.

Mariska Hargitay gives light blue jeans added polish

If you've been wondering if jeans can be business casual, I'd usually say yes, without a doubt, but stick to dark indigo and black washes. However, Mariska's outfit certainly challenges that fashion rule.

Giving wide-leg jeans a dressier feel by opting for a tucked-in tee, alongside a tailored jacket, has given a denim style that is usually considered casual a more polished edge.

Completing her look with a neat, white, quilted Chanel bag with black trim and instantly recognisable, Chanel two-tone pumps, this was a simple, but stylish smart casual outfit, that oozed Quiet Luxury, and I've found just the pieces to help recreate the look.

Leaning into the power of jeans and a white tee, this is a summer combo not to be overlooked. While this combo does work at any time of year, the faded wash jeans feel particularly summery and gave a nod to the denim trends of 2025.

The high waist and wide leg delivered a figure-flattering fit, nipping the star in at the waist and balancing out the strong shoulder of the jacket with the wide hemline for an hourglass silhouette.

While no one item in this look stood out, each piece helped to build an ensemble that demonstrated how to dress simply but stylishly to perfection.

Get the Look

As one might expect from a Chanel event, all attendees put their best fashion foot forward for the prestigious event. Dressed head-to-toe in Chanel, Mariska's outfit evoked so many classic hallmarks of the brand, although the high-waisted, wide-legged jeans delivered a refreshing twist to Chanel's timeless bouclé jacket.

Keeping the look simple, Mariska leaned into the Quiet Luxury look that is so popular amongst French women, and it worked to her advantage. While nothing felt overly showy, altogether, the outfit looked expensive, whilst feeling relatable too, a hard line to navigate.

Although the last few months have seen a real push towards the best barrel leg jeans, Mariska returned to a classic wide-leg for this ensemble and while it may not be the trending style, it is a cut always flatters. Balancing proportions, lengthening legs and narrowing waistlines, the high-waisted, wide-leg jean is wardrobe hero.

<![CDATA[ Julianne Moore confirms that this sandal style is set to be the most coveted summer shoe trend ]]> Studded sandals are fast becoming summer's most sought-after shoe style, and Julianne Moore's recent outing in London, wearing a pair of black studded Khaite sandals, finished with a refined minimalist outfit, has confirmed that I, too, want to get behind this look.

The shoe trends of 2025 have seen a strong resurgence of bohemian themes and motifs, and the revival of the studded sandal is an extension of the boho chic's return. Khaite's Boden Sandals are the perfect example of how this trend has evolved - less about heavy embellishments and more about thoughtfully considered detailing.

Other high-end fashion houses, including Isabel Marant and Valentino, have also confirmed studs being in favour with metal embellished sandals, wedges, and even leather loafers being spotted amongst their summer collections.

Arriving at the BBC on Monday, Moore wore black studded sandals, paired with soft white wide-leg trousers, a cropped knitted pullover with a polo-style neck, and some oversized brown aviator sunglasses. Confirming that this sandal style certainly deserves a spot in your current warm-weather shoe rotation.

I'm currently on the hunt for the best high street lookalike for Moore's sandals, and Mango's Studded Leather Sandals are a strikingly similar alternative that won't cost you a fortune. Shop below for more options.

What's great about this minimalist outfit is how wearable it is. Soft white trousers in either a breathable linen or a lightweight cotton material paired with some open-toe studded sandals are effortlessly chic. And opting for this embellished shoe style means that you don't need to overthink the rest of your look because they become the focal point of the entire outfit.

If you're looking to invest in one sandal this summer, make it a studded pair. You could opt for a flat sole for laid-back styling to pair with your favourite denim jeans, or for elevated dressing, shop platformed or heeled wedge studded options such as these from Anthropologie.

The monochromatic ensemble is always a winner, and while most would think to do black trousers and a white top, flipping this look on its head gives a refreshing and modern take on what will always be a timeless pairing.

<![CDATA[ 'I feel more confident, my legs look longer, and they elevate everything I wear them with' – Zara Tindall's go-to boots are my new wardrobe hero ]]> Multi award-winning brand Fairfax and Favor is one whose knee high boots I instantly recognise. Even without seeing the famous tassels and elegant shield logo, I can spot the distinct shoe style a mile off.

And I'm not the only one who recognises the quality. A firm favourite among the royal family, Zara Tindall is regularly spotted wearing the brand's signature Regina boots, as is her mother Princess Anne. Earlier this year Zara became a brand ambassador, and with Royal Ascot just days away, I wouldn't be surprised to see her wearing Fairfax & Favor during the five-day racing event.

Royal approved and the craftsmanship of its products clear, it's not hard to see how Fairfax & Favor has cemented itself as one of the best British clothing brands. But it hasn't always been that way. The company came from very humble beginnings, but finally got its big break with Regina – the boots the brand refers to as its 'lucky charm'.

I have long admired both Fairfax & Favor and Zara's style, and so when I got the chance to try the Regina boots, I was very happy to oblige. And while I had high hopes for how they would look, they also delivered in ways I hadn't expected - specifically how they make me feel while wearing them.

Which is why I'm recommending them at a time you might think a little strange. Summer is hardly knee high boot weather, I know. But these shoes are surprisingly more versatile than I thought - I have yet to stop wearing mine, particularly in the cooler evenings and love how they look with a dress and shorts.

However, Regina boots don't come cheap and have some trade-offs – here are my honest thoughts if you're considering investing.

Fairfax & Favor Regina review: Unboxing

If you do decide to buy Fairfax & Favor boots, you won't have to wait long. I was surprised - and very happy - to receive mine the day after ordering. And it was a rare delivery that made me feel really excited (a world away from Evri lobbing a parcel in my front garden hedge).

The packaging is much like the product itself - it exudes luxury and class, with thick cardboard covered in the brand's signature blue and gold colourings. It feels fit for royalty, and it really gave me a sense of anticipation to see the boots inside. Which stole the show.

Wrapped individually in ultra soft cloth bags with a drawstring top - the packaging is so befitting of the product inside. And I really appreciate having the box and bags to store the boots and keep them in as pristine condition as possible when not in use.

Fairfax & Favor Regina review: Price

There are now many different styles of Regina boot, which covers everything from the heel height, material and calf fit. Depending on which style you go for, prices start at £395 and max out at £465 per pair.

They are an investment piece, but the quality and craftsmanship of these shoes means if you take care of them, they'll last years.

Fairfax & Favor Regina boots review: Size & Fit

The Regina boot comes in either regular, sporting or narrow - which relates primarily to the fit around your calf. And this is where choosing the right size can get a bit tricky, as both the boot height and calf width increases with foot size.

The Fairfax & Favor website states both the heeled and high heeled Regina boots I tested come with ‘an additional 4cm worth of stretch - split across 5 elastic panels to help fit a range of calf sizes’. It also states both boots fit true to size.

I have quite wide feet, so I ordered a size 6 in the regular fit burgundy high heeled Regina and a size 6 in the sporting fit black suede heeled Regina boots to compare the fit.

Fairfax & Favor Regina boots

The Regina boots come in flat, heeled and high-heeled versions, each with specific measurements of the foot and calf size - note the difference in boot height in the image above (Image credit: Future)

The regular fit burgundy high heels were up first – I could barely get them on bare-legged. As I pulled the zip up I could feel my skin pinching uncomfortably all the way to the top. Once done up it was very difficult to move without any discomfort - there was no chance of getting even the thinnest kind of clothing underneath these.

I was quite shocked by this, the fit being true to size and having an extra 4cm to play with I thought would allow more than enough room for even jeans to go underneath. Alas, this was not the case.

I sized up to a 7 to see if that would help, which it did - the bigger size was much easier to get on. However, the bigger foot size meant the boot height was taller and it now sat directly in the crease of my knee, making it impossible to bend my leg (and therefore walk or sit down).

Close up of Regina boots on while sat down

The boots on the left were too high, making bending my legs to walk and sit down very uncomfortable. The boots on the right were marginally shorter, sitting just below the crease of my knee for an ideal fit (Image credit: Future)

At this point I tried the heeled suede Regina knee high boots in a size 6, with the sporting calf fit, and it was perfect. The sporting fit can stretch an extra 6cm, and it seemed this was what my calves needed in order to easily be done up both with and without clothing on underneath.

It's worth mentioning I didn't find these boots the easiest to get on and off, and I don't have any mobility issues. The zips are on the outside of your leg (so show off the beautiful tassle), and so moving them up and down requires some positions I think anyone with mobility issues particularly might find tricky. Holding the tassle made this a little easier, however I was very conscious to not do this too much for fear of it damaging either the tassle or zip in the process.

Before buying I would highly recommend looking at the size guide on the Fairfax & Favor product pages to determine which boots will be right for you. Not just from a foot size point-of-view, but with calf width and leg height taken into account too. All three of these sizes combined have to align in order to make these boots fit comfortably, and it might take a bit of back-and-forth to get that right if you don't really pay attention to measurements first.

Fairfax & Favor Regina boots review: Comfort & Support

While finding the right size and fit might take a bit of consideration, and getting them on isn't the easiest thing to do, all of this was quickly forgotten when I was wearing them.

Knee high boots aren't exactly renowned for their comfort, but Fairfax & Favor have redefined what it is to wear these shoes – they are so comfortable. Which is not something I thought I would ever say, especially being someone who rarely wears knee high boots and usually avoids heels at all costs.

The fully leather lined interior and memory foam insoles are so soft against my skin when wearing them without anything underneath, and I didn't experience any rubbing or blisters anywhere.

The craftsmanship of these boots is really clear when wearing them, not just from an aesthetic point of view but a comfort one too. I have worn the smaller heeled version many times for the whole day without issue, and even the high heeled boots are much more comfortable for longer wear than I was expecting.

Fairfax & Favor Regina boots review: Style

The reason anyone buys these, right, because they are beautiful. Truly, just pulling them out of their individual bags before you put them on, there's still a moment I take every time I wear them where I just soak in how they feel and the intricate detail and care of how they have been put together.

But trust me when I say this pales in comparison to how I feel when I actually put them on. I stand taller, I feel more confident, my legs look longer, they elevate everything I pair them with - there is genuinely nothing not to like about not only how these boots look, but the pure sense of joy and confidence-boost they give me on every single wear. If I want to mean business, these come first, and the rest of the outfit follows.

Fairfax & Favor Regina boots review: Cleaning

Having tried both the leather and suede versions of Regina I can very confidently say if you are going to wear these boots a lot, the leather version is your best bet for longevity. Like any product made out of these two materials, the leather version is so much easier to clean - and keep clean - than its suede counterpart. But that's just the natural of the material, rather than anything to do with the design.

I personally favour the suede version over the leather ones, so I wear them more and have to clean them after every wear. They show marks really easily but a soft suede brush is often enough to buff them out. But it does limit where I wear them, to a degree. I have covered mine in suede protector, but would still never wear them out in the rain for fear of them being ruined. If you want to be able to wear Regina's whatever the weather, leather is definitely the way to go.

Fairfax & Favor Regina boots review: Verdict

Fairfax & Favor's Regina boots are an investment piece, but when it comes to comfortable, stylish knee high boots, they are hard to beat. For this price you really need to make sure you look after them, but if you do they'll last for years to come. And, honestly, the sense of confidence and joy I get when wearing them is enough to justify the price tag.

There are a few considerations, other than price, you need to think about, the size and fit particularly - to part with the money you need to make sure the fit is perfect. But the good news is my experience of the support team was it is just as important to them that you find your perfect fit, and I exchanged twice with no issues at all.

There's not many things in my wardrobe that invoke the sense of excitement and pride I get from these boots. Pieces like this, which give you an instant sense of confidence that you'll never tire of and offer timeless style are rare to find, and so well worth the investment.

<![CDATA[ It's shorts season. Not sure how to wear this tricky item? Experts reveal stylish shorts outfit for all ages ]]> A summer staple, nailing how to wear shorts both on and off the beach is easier than you think. A wardrobe hero when it comes to what to wear in the heat, shorts, of all lengths have found themselves back at the forefront of summer fashion. But if you're struggling to see how to make this style work, have no fear, I have you covered.

One of the major spring/summer fashion trends for 2025, designers sent various iterations of the short down the catwalk, from Burberry’s cargo-style Bermudas to Chloe’s bubble hem shorts, proving their versatility and elevated appeal for the warmer months ahead.

“Shorts are having a strong moment again this summer,” says personal stylist Lisa Talbot. “We’re seeing everything from relaxed boxer-style shorts to elevated co-ord sets and even city shorts styled like suiting.”

How to style shorts for all ages and occasions

When it comes to summer shorts, don't be put off by the thought of Daisy Dukes, in 2025, shorts come in all styles, cuts and guises to suit every shape and taste. From polished and tailored styles that will work for the office, to holiday-ready designs that still give a decent amount of coverage, the short has had a grown-up update.

Ready to ditch your midi dress and add shorts to your summer capsule wardrobe? I've got all the tips on how to style shorts for 2025. Whether you're aiming for comfort, polish, or a playful twist, there's a pair to suit every mood and occasion.

How to style Bermuda shorts

A relief for those of us who never felt right in short shorts, longer length Bermuda shorts are having a moment. But while they can provide more coverage, the longer, baggier length means they can be harder to style

“Bermuda shorts can be deceptively tricky, the longer length can cut the leg line if you’re not careful,” says Lisa. “My top tip? Focus on balance.”

What to wear with shorts like these? Lisa suggests pairing them with a tucked-in shirt or fitted top to define your waist and keep proportions in check.

The beauty of longer-length shorts is that they are great for most occasions. Dressed down with your best white trainers or a sandal and T-shirt, they’re perfect for casual weekend outings, running errands, nds or travelling in comfort.

Don’t dismiss them for dressier occasions either. Lisa says they’re perfect for creating that smart casual outfit.

“Choose a tailored pair in structured fabric and style with a belt for a chic finish,” she suggests. “A slight heel or wedge can also help elongate the leg.”

How to style denim shorts

Denim shorts and summer are like fish and chips – a classic combination you can't beat – however, this year, it might be time to rethink the fit and embrace the latest denim trends for 2025.

“Denim shorts are a summer classic, but the 2025 update is all in the styling,” says Megan Watkins, head stylist at fashion brand SilkFred. “Think looser fits – like a slouchy mid-thigh or longer-line cut – paired with a basic tank top and oversized blazer for a high-low mix. When considering what to wear with shorts, these pairings offer an effortlessly chic vibe."

Denim shorts are also a festival must-have, so if you’re off to an outdoor gig this summer, Megan suggests making them feel fresher with accessories.

“Add a bright shoulder bag or a printed scarf tied at the waist,” she says. “Or team them with cowboy boots, studded belt and a boho blouse to nod to the ever-popular Western trend.”

Regardless of what’s on trend, Lisa says it’s important to make sure denim shorts fit well.

“Look for a pair that flatters your shape. That might mean high-waisted to accentuate your waist or mid-rise for more comfort,” she says. “And always do the sit-down test before buying, if they’re riding up, they’re not the ones!”

How to style linen shorts

Three women wearing different types of linen shorts

A high street linen staple, linen shorts are a hot weather essential. Perfect for holidays, they're breathable, lightweight, and the best part is that creases only make them look more effortlessly stylish, turning them into an absolute suitcase essential.

“Comfortable and effortless looks that require little thought are my go-to when I’m on holiday, so I always pack a light and breezy linen co-ord for an elevated, throw-on look,” says Dessi Bell, founder of Saint + Sofia.

Co-ords are perfect for holidays as you’ll get more wear out of both the shorts and top. Try a looser fitting cropped shirt with a matching pair of shorts or a slightly shorter top with high-waisted, wide-leg linen shorts for a chic, relaxed vibe. And when you're thinking about your complete holiday outfit, don't forget to pair them with the best swimsuits for your body shape for seamless beach-to-dining styling.

Linen shorts are not just for holidays though. Megan says it is possible to make them work for the UK weather.

“You can still make them work with our unpredictable weather by layering” she says. “Try adding an oversized shirt or a fine knit jumper over a vest top, and finish with trainers or loafers.”

How to style tailored shorts

Three women wearing tailored shorts

It’s time to ditch your women’s trouser suit and instead get suited and booted with shorts, at least for the warmest of days. Lisa says shorts styled like suiting with matching blazers and heels is a key look for this summer.

Dessi is also a fan of the tailored short for work.

“For busy office days when I’m in and out of meetings, I always rely on a pair of tailored linen shorts,” says Dessi. “I find them to be a really versatile piece of clothing, pairing perfectly with a classic t-shirt or delicate blouse. “

Try a pair of high-waisted, pleated, tailored shorts in a neutral tone like cream. Team them with a matching oversized blazer, a silk and lace camisole underneath and finish the look with some simple mules.

How to wear shorts in a fashionable way

Shorts are a summer classic, but it’s easy to bring them firmly into 2025 with just a few styling tweaks.

“The key shift is in how they’re worn,” explains Lisa. “Think more refined, dressed up, and less beach-only.”

When considering what to wear with shorts for a fresh, on-trend take, swap your casual tee for unexpected pairings. Lisa suggests a blazer, waistcoat or luxe knit for a contemporary feel.

Are shorts on trend for 2025?

Absolutely, says Megan, but it’s all about choosing the right fit.

“2025 is all about elevated ease,” she says. “We’re seeing a significant rise in tailored shorts – the kind with pleats and a structured waistband – in versatile neutral tones like taupe, cream, and olive.”

These offer a sophisticated alternative to traditional denim and can easily be dressed up or down, making them perfect for both office-appropriate looks and smart casual outings.

Another style Megan says is big this year is boxer-style shorts, “thanks to their relaxed silhouette and tomboy aesthetic.”

This style is perfect for holiday, thrown over a swimsuit, or for those days when you just want to chill, demonstrating the breadth of how to style shorts for different moods and occasions.

I like all of the shoes in the range, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be the cross-strap chunky sandals as I feel like they have a smarter feel that will add a polished footnote to any look while being very comfy to wear and fuss-free to style up. Whichever pair you go for, though, I guarantee you will be wearing them for years to come.

Nobody's Child was already a hero fashion destination, and now that there are shoes on offer, I have even more of a reason to visit the site. Be quick to get your hands (or feet!) on some of these sandals, though, as I predict this collection will be a total sell-out.

<![CDATA[ Natalie Portman’s white shirt and pretty pink midi skirt is the vintage-inspired combination that will always look chic ]]> It’s hard to describe just how much I love Natalie Portman’s latest outfit, and I think you'll love it too. Particularly if you're wondering what to wear to Wimbledon this year!

The actress was spotted watching a tennis match at the French Open in Paris last week, wearing a timeless white shirt and pink A-line skirt combination, and she finished it with a retro-style straw hat and oversized shades. It’s a total fashion fail-safe formula and has such a pretty feel for a sunny day – I adore everything about it.

The celebrity styled her button-down top and skirt brilliantly, and as well as topping it off with her Christian Dior headgear, she rolled up her sleeves and popped up her collar to add a little extra oomph. The look had a lovely vintage vibe to it, but manages to feel fresh and fun, and Natalie proves that sometimes wearing simple separates like these together can make just as much of a statement as something much more bold and fussy.

I will definitely be recreating her look for a summer party or a sunny brunch date, and I have rounded up some similar pieces below that will do the job nicely.

A bold pink skirt like Natalie’s has plenty of styling opportunities and can work for a whole host of daytime or evening occasions. Wear yours with crisp white separates like the celebrity, or add a silver sequin vest and heels for something a little more special.

You can give your colour pop piece a much more casual spin with a light grey knit and your best white trainers, too.

<![CDATA[ Lucy Liu’s platform trainers are the comfy and stylish way to elevate a summer dress instead of heels ]]> I used to love wearing heels. I had so many pairs of stilettos, wedges and chunky platforms and would happily strut about the office or dance the night away in them, often ignoring the aches and blisters on my soles because of how good they looked with my outfit.

A few years and two children later, I avoid any kind of heel at all costs. I love how they look, but as a busy mum, I feel like I need to be able to move fast, and I prefer shoes that I can wear all day with zero complaints or discomfort. Even on a rare night out, I will opt for shiny loafers or my leopard print ballet flats.

I’m always in flat shoes, and more often than not, I will finish an outfit with my most comfortable trainers before heading out the door. In all honesty, though, sometimes when I'm wearing a floaty sundress or a slip skirt, I do miss the extra height that heels gave me, so when I spotted Lucy Liu’s platform sneakers, I wanted them immediately.

Earlier this month, the star stepped out in a pair of Converse Run Star Hike Ox Platform Trainers, which are a fresh white pair of lace-ups with minimal black details and a very chunky platform sole for some extra lift. You're probably familiar with Converse low-top trainers, but these are another level of luxury.

The actress wore a floral mini dress with a bright red shoulder bag, and her elevated shoe added a sporty footnote that really worked. The chunkier shoe is the perfect blend of comfort and height, and I for one, will be investing in a pair for summer.

When it comes to styling your jumbo-soled trainers, simply wear them as you would any of your other sneakers. The extra height lends itself well to longer length dresses and skirts, but they will work brilliantly with cropped denim or a pair of striped trousers.

The sporty style will give you some lift and lengthen the appearance of your legs, but they will support your feet better than classic heels to keep you comfy on even the busiest of days.

<![CDATA[ Want to look put-together with minimal effort? Jennifer Aniston’s summer outfit has the answer ]]> We've all got a simple pair of slip-on sandals hiding in the wardrobe - pairing them with a striking and colourful outfit like Jennifer Aniston's tie-dye mini dress and denim jacket pairing is a great way to create an impactful look.

Neutrals, dainty floral patterns and crisp, fresh white shades are musts in any summer capsule wardrobe if you want to create a versatile and ultra wearable collection of clothes to see you through the season. But while we love a good basic, Jennifer Aniston reminded us a few statement pieces are equally as important - and they can take our more simple staples to a whole new level.

Showing us exactly how to style up our most simple summer sandals in a look from back in 2013, Jen paired a statement tie-dye mini dress with a sturdy denim jacket and pair of flat, strappy sandals. A decade on, her look is just as effortless and cool as when she first stepped out in it, with the timeless and classic staples of a trusty denim jacket (featuring prominently in our 2025 denim trends round-up) and comfy strappy sandals never going out of style.

Jen's lowkey look is one woman&home's Digital Fashion Writer, Molly Smith, appreciates: "I love this outfit; it's giving off that well-loved boho aesthetic, that looks effortlessly cool on almost anyone. Plus the flowy silhouette of the dress with the fitted denim jacket is incredibly flattering. Layering a short jacket over a loose dress is a styling hack that looks great on a variety of body types too, perfect for the warmer weather."

No matter which colour suits you best, Jen's outfit is one that has us keen to try out all-over blue tones. Especially with the tie-dye bringing some variation to the bold and bright hue, it feels much more laid-back and chilled than some of the brighter colours we see with monochrome outfits and other colour trends, especially with the denim bringing in added texture to the outfit.

Keeping things relaxed with the jacket sleeves rolled down and buttons left open, Jen slipped into a pair of utterly timeless brown leather strappy sandals. Sleek and simple, they are a style that wouldn't seem out of place on holiday nor on a hot day in a city, making them a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

To accessorise the free-flowing, tiered mini, Jen finished her outfit off with a pair of basic black aviator style sunglasses and a long silver chain necklace added even more wearability to Jen's outfit of choice - making it so easy to take inspiration from.

<![CDATA[ Postcard prints are everywhere right now – it’s the fun fashion trend I'll be investing in for my upcoming holidays ]]> If, like me, you have a holiday booked for summer, you're probably busy dreaming about sandy shores and what to pack in your suitcase. I've been browsing for some new pieces to wear in the sun, and while doing so, I’ve noticed a trend emerging that seems to be popping up at most brands - and that’s postcard prints.

Everywhere I’ve looked recently, I've found shirts, trousers, and dresses covered with cheerful fruit, florals and beachy prints that look like a snapshot from an exotic getaway and have a playful feel to them that I love. The sketched designs are perfect for wearing while you are away, but also for adding a little vacay-vibe to your wardrobe if you haven’t got any trips in the diary.

The look is bold and bright, but very wearable, and it’s a spring/summer trend that I will definitely be investing in for the coming weeks. I have fallen particularly hard for the Nobody’s Child Cassidy dress, which is covered in an illustrated stamp-style print and comes complete with ruffles and a tiered skirt detail. It’s probably my favourite postcard piece so far, but there are so many to choose from. I have rounded up some of the best below.

Wish you were here! Shop the postcard print trend

While the postcard prints are bright and busy, they can be worn and styled in the same way as your favourite animal print separates or floral pieces. I will team a patterned shirt with jeans or a swishy skirt, and a dress will look great all by itself with just a pair of wedges and a straw bag.

Postcard prints are bursting with summer joy, and I promise that whichever piece you go for, it’ll transport you into holiday mode every time you wear it.

<![CDATA[ Sienna Miller's timeless polka dot outfit was perfect for Wimbledon and ticks off one of this summer's key trends ]]> Wimbledon is almost upon us, which means it won’t be long until sports fans and celebrities gather court-side to take in all the tennis action. That often includes the Princess of Wales, Zara Tindall and Anna Wintour, who always bring their A-game when it comes to their outfit choices.

If you're lucky enough to have a ticket to SW19, you're probably wondering what to wear to Wimbledon. One of the big names who consistently aces it with her wardrobe is Sienna Miller, and I’m already excited to see if she'll be there this year. The star always looks fabulous, and the stunning polka dot shirt and skirt ensemble she opted for in summer 2024 was up there with her best.

Sienna wore a matching white cropped blouse and swishy skirt by Prada, and each piece was covered with mini brown spots. The actress finished it with a simple white bag and strappy heels, and it was the perfect look for a day at Centre Court.

I imagine that there will be plenty of dotty dresses and skirts at the sporting event this year (which starts on 30th June, and runs until 13th July), as polka dots are a huge spring/summer fashion trend. I have rounded up some winning designer copycats below to recreate Sienna's look, whatever your budget.

When it comes to trying this patterned trend, you have plenty of options. Wear a matching set like Sienna, simply pair up a spotted blouse with your best barrel leg jeans, or add a colour pop T-shirt to a dotted skirt and sandal combination.

<![CDATA[ I’m calling it – Pamela Anderson’s vintage-inspired outfit is one of her most fabulous looks ever ]]> Pamela Anderson has always looked great, but when it comes to her wardrobe, I feel like she has really upped her game over the last few months. Whether it’s daytime or a red carpet event, she has nailed it with her outfits time and time again.

I adored her silver embellished dress at the Met Gala 2025, and last month she wore this all-white outfit, complete with an oversized hat that was absolutely gorgeous. But I’m going to make a bold statement and declare that her latest outfit is probably her most fabulous so far.

Last week while out in New York, the 57-year-old star wore the Marni Poplin Mermaid Shirt Dress in white, which was covered in a bold red rose print. She styled it with a pair of Gianvito Rossi court shoes, oversized sunglasses and a white chiffon scarf wrapped around her head that added a touch of old school Hollywood glamour. It’s a look that has a very strong Marilyn Monroe vibe to it and manages to feel very elegant while still being full of fun.

This petal-powered combination is perfect if you're wondering what to wear to Royal Ascot, or for a cocktail party, and I have tracked down some similar red and white patterned pieces below to recreate the star's statement outfit.

I love that Pamela used colour pop shoes to finish her outfit, but a timeless pair of gold strappy sandals or a black mule would look just as stylish.

When it comes to bags and jewellery, keep your accessories simple to let your dress take centre stage - a small clutch or mini top-handle bag in a plain neutral tone will work perfectly with a bold floral design like this.

<![CDATA[ Ricki Lake reminded us that whatever the weather, an all-black ensemble always works ]]> Sighted in SoHo, New York, Ricki Lake looked ideally dressed for the changeable summer weather. Stepping out in a maxi length, curved V-neck t-shirt dress, teamed with a leather bomber jacket, statement earrings and big, hefty heels, the all black ensemble ensured the star looked understated but put together.

While we'd love a summer filled with balmy weather, history suggests that isn't what we get, so having a great layering piece to solve what to wear over a dress, even in the warmer months, is a good idea. A leather or denim jacket is a strong choice, as they're just the right weight for spring and mild summer temperatures.

Selecting a trending bomber jacket, elevated by the leather fabric, Ricki Lake's pared-back but thoughtful outfit is such an easy one to recreate; in fact, you probably have lots of the items already in your summer capsule wardrobe.

Ricki Lake knows that even in summer, an all-black look is timeless

If you're ever having a sartorial meltdown, an all-black ensemble is one you can rely on. Everything will go, and this colourway always appears polished.

Opting for a deep neckline, Ricki Lake ensured that there was still plenty of light around her face, making this a flattering look. She added a pop of colour and further brightness with a pair of 3D floral earrings, offering a big nod to the jewellery trends of 2025.

The cropped leather bomber jacket, with subtle ribbed panels at the hem, helped to draw the eye in at her smallest part, creating a narrowed waistline, for a flattering, hourglass silhouette, balancing the star's proportions.

Finishing her look with a statement shoe, a great choice when going for a solid colour outfit, Ricki Lake selected the now sold-out Shoreditch High Platform from British brand Kurt Geiger. Decorated in embossed colourful stars, the platform shoes lengthened the star's silhouette, and ensured her dress hemline avoided sweeping the floor.

An easy look to recreate for the months ahead, a maxi dress is always a key part of a summer wardrobe. Wearable at home, to work or on holiday, this timeless design can be dressed up or down, making it a brilliant investment.

Get the look

In a sea of celebrity looks, Ricki Lake's is not the boldest, but it is one we want in our arsenal, because sometimes simplicity and understated style is all you need.

Turning to a block colour palette, Ricki has taken out the hard work of matching up several hues, relying on a timeless black dress and an ever-cool leather jacket to ensure she looks polished.

Adding bold touches to finish off her outfit, a pair of statement shoes and trending earrings help to bring her ensemble up-to-date. This is a brilliant style-takeaway to help you refresh classic pieces. Remember, you don't need to re-do your wardrobe every season, with all the trending styles, but a few well-thought-out and directional accessories can make staple items look and feel more timely.

<![CDATA[ Reese Witherspoon’s effortless beach day look is the summer style we're copying ]]> As summer approaches, we're gearing up for hot weather and days spent at the beach. We've found the ideal outfit inspiration for just that in Reese Witherspoon's pretty printed dress, wide-brimmed sunhat and relaxed canvas tote bag pairing.

Posting on Instagram last summer, Reese captioned the snap: "The perfect summer dress doesn’t exi— oh wait, I found it!'" And her fans agree. "You look gorgeous," wrote one. "That dress looks good on you!!" said another.

woman&home's Fashion Ecommerce Editor Caroline Parr explains why this is a look you'll come to rely on when the temperatures rise: "Find the perfect summer dress and you're sorted for the next few months. A roomy tote bag will hold all your essentials, and they're a huge (pardon the pun!) trend right now - look to Katie Holmes and Alexa Chung for more inspiration if you need it."

Shop Reese's summer style

In our minds, this outfit is the perfect summer look. The bold pattern on her dress is a great way to make a statement in the summer months, when layering and adding texture to an outfit is impossible thanks to the heat. But with stunning swirls and flower motifs, plus some striking blue stitching, you get a breezy statement piece that also makes for an ideal holiday style thanks to the Mediterranean feel of the colourway, too.

While the dress is super classic and timeless, Reese gave it a modern edge by adding a boxy beach bag to the look. Reese tagged the clothes as being from Draper James X Kohl's, which is her California lifestyle brand and epitomises the actor's laid-back style.

Reese is wearing the Women's Draper James Embroidered Midi Dress, available in US department store Kohl's, which sadly doesn't ship to the UK. But we've found some great alternatives if you want to mimic Reese's style. Crafted from floaty fabrics that will keep you cool, with elegant and flattering fits, any of these would make a great addition to your summer capsule wardrobe.

<![CDATA[ Emma Willis' latest looks are from my favourite British brand, and I genuinely want them all ]]> Emma Willis has one of those wardrobes that consistently feels really on-trend while still being very relaxed and wearable. The star always looks great, and when it comes to celebrity style inspiration, I often look to her for some smart casual outfit ideas.

The star recently shared a selection of pictures on Instagram showcasing a wide range of her looks, captioning it "When you find a brand that’s just right and you can’t stop wearing it #appreciationpost"

They covered everything from a crisp off-white suit to a boldly striped knit. I ooh-ed and ahh-ed over each piece, so I was delighted to discover that she had tagged her clothing, and it turns out that every item that Emma was wearing was from ME+EM.

ME+EM is a British clothing brand that is well-loved by celebrities, with a number of big-name fans including Katie Holmes and Trinny Woodall. Emma’s recent looks showed exactly why it's so popular, and just how much choice the collection offers. There’s a piece to suit every summer capsule wardrobe, and you can get your hands on the very same hero buys below.

I love all of Emma's looks, but the striped jumper is probably up there as one of my favourites. It'll work brilliantly as an easy extra layer on a chilly morning or for when the Great British weather lets us down, and then once Autumn comes around, you can rewear it again and again. Team it with a satin slip skirt or tailored trousers and you'll be all set.

<![CDATA[ Yes, UGG boots can work for summer - Demi Moore’s latest outfit proves you shouldn't pack them away just yet ]]> Hot and sunny weather may usually call for your favourite sandals and lighter ballet pumps, but there's no need to say goodbye to your beloved UGGs during the summer. Don’t believe me? Just check out Demi’s recent Instagram snap.

The 62-year-old actress shared a photo of herself wearing a black sporty bomber jacket with matching black jeans, finishing her laid-back ensemble with a pair of what look like Classic Mini UGG boots. The outfit was a low-key yet chic combination, and her snuggly soft footwear was the perfect footnote. The sheepskin shoe style always looks great, and will make a handy pair to have in your summer capsule wardrobe for those inevitable chillier days when the weather lets you down.

The key to making UGGs work for the coming months is to opt for the shorter ankle-high pairs like Demi’s as they won’t feel overly hot on your feet and will sit neatly with your cropped denim or floaty sundresses. Whether you're a long-time fan of the fuzzy-lined boot or looking to invest in a new pair, the star’s look is great inspiration for how to wear them right now.

If you’re unsure about what brand of sheepskin shoe to invest in, our guide to UGG vs Emu boots might help with your decision. As a brand, UGG tends to reign supreme with the fashion set, but there are plenty of options available to suit any budget and personal style.

The key to keeping your sheepskin boots looking chic is to team them with smarter clothing or with separates that have plenty of structure and definition. Wide-leg trousers or a loose maxi dress may look a little cumbersome and unflattering when sitting over fluffy boots, so take note from Demi and opt for skinny denim or tailored bottoms.

<![CDATA[ The best Bvlgari jewels on the red carpet and on screen ]]> "I introduced her to beer and she introduced me to Bvlgari" - Richard Burton, on how Elizabeth Taylor brought him to a new world of glamour.

Bvlgari - pronounced as Bulgari, and sometimes spelt as such - was founded in Rome in 1884 by Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari, or, as his Greek name dictated, Sotirois Voulgaris.

An emblem of Italian luxury and opulence for decades, Bvlgari is known as a pioneer in using coloured gemstones and establishing an early connection to the world of glamorous movie stars.

Elizabeth Taylor was such a fan, it's said she visited the boutique every day while filming Cleopatra in Rome, and the boutique even named a room after her, the Salottino Taylor.

Ready to dive in for la dolce vita and a history of Bvlgari on the screen and on the red carpet?

The best Bvlgari jewels on the red carpet and on screen

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez's glittering appearance at the 2023 Grammys - alongside now ex-husband Ben Affleck - proved two things: diamonds, not men, really are forever, and there are few people who can rock such expensive rocks quite like JLo.

For the appearance at the music awards show, Jennifer lit up the already star-studded room in a set of Bvlgari jewels.

Jennifer opted for the Italian jewellers' Serpenti High Jewellery collection, including two interlapping necklaces which boasted over 150 carats of white diamonds.

She topped off the set with blue sapphire earrings totalling 43 carats. Per reports, the collective worth of the Bvlgari set was £1.5M.

Anne Hathaway (2023)

Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway has become a red carpet stalwart over the years, and her longtime collaboration with Bvlgari - the Devil Wears Prada star has served as a global ambassador for years - makes her appearances extra luxe.

For the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards, Anne showcased some of the brand's finest high jewellery, including a necklace with one cushion sapphire and over 112 carats of diamonds set in platinum, as well as high jewellery earrings in white gold with two cushion sapphires and buff top emeralds.

If that wasn't enough sparkle, Anne also wore a ring with over 25 carats of sapphires and pavé-set diamonds and a high jewellery Serpenti diamond bracelet.

Elizabeth Taylor's diamond and emerald necklace

Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor was almost as famous for her unrivalled jewellery collection as she was for her film career and tumultuous private life.

Being such a jewellery aficionado, Elizabeth was one of the first major movie stars associated with the house of Bvlgari outside of native Italian stars like Sophia Loren.

Indeed, legend has it, when filming Cleopatra in Rome, Elizabeth would go to Bvlgari's Via Condotti boutique every day.

From the start of their affair up until their engagement and marriage, Richard Burton collected and presented Elizabeth with a diamond and emerald suite, including a brooch, earrings and necklace.

The Bvlgari suite sold for $23M during the iconic 2011 auction of Elizabeth's jewels, with the brand buying back several of their pieces and later putting them on display.

For the 2023 Venice Film Festival, Jessica Chastain certainly leaned in to la dolce vita - not only was the striking Oscar winner wearing a rose gold gown from Gucci, she added extra glamour with a selection of Bvlgari jewels.

The Molly's Game star included a diamond cocktail ring and cascading chandelier earrings.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

In 1999, Donatella Versace and De Beers hosted a Diamonds Are Forever fashion show, which practically demanded the brightest stars of the day bring their A game.

And that's exactly what Catherine Zeta-Jones did, turning up wearing archival Bvlgari, including a prominent choker-style necklace and diamond earrings.

Nicole Kidman

At the 2002 Academy Awards, Nicole Kidman paired a Chanel couture dress with a unique Bvlgari wraparound necklace that she actually helped design.

Working with the Oscar winner, Bvlgari designed its first ever major rough diamond piece, composed of 241 carats of rough stones. The fabulous necklace, valued at around $4M, was a collaborative effort between Bvlgari and De Beers, which provided the most extraordinary selection of rare rough diamonds from Botswana, South Africa and Namibia.

Per Natural Diamonds, at the time, Nicola Bulgari confirmed Nicole's involvement in the design, saying, "She sketched a wraparound necklace with a tail down the back. We wanted it to look as if it wrapped the neck casually, but the diamonds had to be separated to keep them from scratching one another."

Being Elizabeth Taylor, when it came to movie jewellery, she didn't need to loan out spectacular pieces as she already owned them.

For 1963's The VIPs, in which she starred once again with her Cleopatra co-star and two-time husband Richard Burton, Elizabeth famously wore some of her own pieces, including a Bvlgari platinum, emerald and diamond Tremblant brooch worn as a hairpiece.

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron looked every inch the movie star at the 91st Academy Awards, thanks in part to her suite of high jewellery Bvlgari pieces.

The Bombshell star wore a white gold double wrap high jewellery necklace with a matching bracelet, along with another diamond necklace and earrings with sapphires from the house's iconic Serpenti collection.

Keira Knightley

Showcasing the brand's penchant for coloured stones and lavish designs, Keira Knightley wore vintage Bvlgari to the 2006 Academy Awards.

The Pride and Prejudice star's sapphire, emerald, ruby and diamond Bvlgari collier necklace was said to have come from the 1950s, and once belonged to the Princess Soraya of Iran.

One of Elizabeth Taylor's oddest films, Boom! was considered a massive flop. The bizarre film - which takes place on a remote island, with Richard Burton co-starring as a man who visits Elizabeth and is heralded as a warning of Death itself - might not win any awards for filmmaking, but Elizabeth's costumes and jewellery were never better.

Among the many standout pieces, Elizabeth wore her emerald and diamond spray Bvlgari brooch prominently.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston's best looks over the years have often cast her as something of the girl next door, known for relaxed looks and not too much fuss. But at the 2006 Oscars, the Friends icon wore one of her most lavish pieces of jewellery to date - a 137-carat Art Deco diamond necklace from the Bvlgari archives.

At the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, Zendaya proved her place as one of the new Hollywood superstars, shimmering in a Bvlgari High Jewellery necklace featuring a 31-carat Paraíba tourmaline, along with matching earrings and a ring.

As well as the Paraíba tourmaline, a rare blueish-green gemstone, the necklace included 48 carats of diamonds.

To complete her transformation from pop star to bona fide movie royalty, Lady Gaga turned to Bvlgari - the jeweller to the movie stars - when she premiered her Oscar-nominated turn in A Star is Born.

Gaga wore heritage pieces from the brand, including high jewellery 20-carat earrings and a stunning 100-carat diamond necklace.

She's known for starring in The Princess Diaries, but Anne Hathaway looked like real royalty when she opened the Bvlgari Serpenti Infinito exhibition in Shanghai in 2025.

Anne wore a striking gold Oscar de la Renta gown, and she paired the structural piece with some of the finest Bvlgari gems.

Anne wore a pair of luxe earrings and a one-of-a-kind Serpenti necklace, made of pure gold and featuring pink and blue gemstones.

Of course, Sophia Loren would have to appear on this list. One of the most iconic and celebrated Italian movie stars of all time, Sophia exudes elegance and brought a taste of Roman glamour to Hollywood.

While she has worn the brand throughout her illustrious career, she notably wore a set for the 1994 film, Pret-a-Porter. Sophia's jewels included a necklace and earrings in gold, rubies and diamonds.

Back in 2012, Madonna helped reinvigorate the Super Bowl Halftime show, bringing back big names and big productions.

As the Queen of Pop, Madge had to bring her full majestic force for the big night of sports, and she did so by pairing her Philip Treacy headpiece with a pair of high jewellery Bvlgari diamond earrings, made with almost 20 carats of diamonds.

Sport has never been so glamorous.

Fellini. Sophia Loren. Bvlgari. And Gina Lollobrigida. There are certain names that are just synonymous with Italian cool and glamour.

So when the international model and sex symbol of the 50s and 60s was snapped enjoying a gelato wearing a suite of emeralds from Bvlgari, nothing has ever felt more full of la dolce vita.

Hollywood's loss was European cinema's gain when Casablanca legend Ingrid Bergman was effectively shut out of American cinema following the scandal of her affair with director Roberto Rossellini.

Swapping America for European cinema, Ingrid Bergman embraced the new wave of French and Italian cinema, and it gave us one of her most glamorous turns in 1964's The Visit, where she played a multi-millionaire who returns to her small town with vengeance in mind.

As part of her opulent attire, she famously wore a suite of gold and diamond Bvlgari heritage pieces.

At the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, they screened a restored version of the classic, Cleopatra. For the occasion, screen siren Jessica Chastain paid homage to the film's star, Elizabeth Taylor, wearing archival Bvlgari pieces from Elizabeth herself.

Jessica wore the spectacular octagonal sapphire sautoir necklace given to Elizabeth by Richard Burton in 1972 and the famous Trombino ring.

The ring got its name from its shape, similar to a small trumpet. Bulgari made this platinum ring in 1971 and set it with a sugar-loaf cabochon sapphire of more than 25 carats.

Martin Scorsese's 1995 film, Casino, is all about excess. So it's no surprise that the Italian-American director turned to Bvlgari to highlight just how much wealth his characters were dealing with.

Sharon Stone's femme fatale, Ginger, is gifted an entire box of Bvlgari pieces in one memorable scene.

The movie doesn't give everyone a happy ending, but those Bvlgari jewels definitely leave a glittering legacy.

As the star of Fellini's La Dolce Vita, Anita Ekberg is synonymous with Italian glamour, so it's no surprise she had a long and luxurious connection to Bvlgari.

From wearing pieces throughout her personal life and in her movies, Anita is widely reported as once saying, "La Dolce Vita is Roma and Roma means Bvlgari."

<![CDATA[ What to wear to Royal Ascot: elegant outfit ideas for every enclosure ]]> Deciding what to wear to the races is one thing, but deciding what to wear to Royal Ascot is a bit trickier. There are very specific rules and guidance, depending on which enclosure your ticket allows you access to. From the diameter of your hat base to the width of your dress straps, the dress codes are specific, but are there to encourage everyone to look their very best and enjoy the day in style.

Royal Ascot is one of the best British events in the calendar. From the horse racing itself to the parade ring, and singing around the bandstand at the end of the day, you're going to love it.

This year, the event runs from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 21st June, and you can expect to see plenty of celebrities and members of the Royal Family dressed in their finery. Ladies Day, which is on Thursday, is always a real highlight.

It's one thing to find the perfect dress, but what accessories do you wear with it? Do you really have to wear a hat? And which shoes should you wear? There's nothing worse than sinking into the grass with stilettos. Confused? We've got you covered!

What to wear to Royal Ascot: outfit ideas

woman&home's Fashion Editor Rivkie Baum offers this advice: "I tend to rely on a fit and flared midi dress for an easy one-and-done outfit. While I will tend to opt for a sleeveless style, in a bold colour to match the boldness of the event, I always make sure I have a cardigan to hand as a light layer to slip on for an evening breeze. When it comes to footwear, comfort is key, and you can't go wrong with a pair of trending, neutral ballet pumps as there is a lot of walking and standing around."

The Royal Enclosure

If you're lucky enough to have a ticket for the Royal Enclosure, this is the strictest dress code of all, so think elegant and respectful. I'd say the best way to approach it is the same way you might a church wedding.

Midi dresses are a popular choice, since dresses and skirts have to be just above the knee or longer. Bold colours and prints aren't off-limits - in fact, you can really have some fun with them!

In 2017, jumpsuits were formally added to the dress code, but any suits must be in a matching material and colour.

Note that hats (not fascinators) must be worn. You can wear a hatinator (has the appearance of a hat but is fastened onto a headband), but it should have a base of 4 inches or more. A fascinator, on the other hand, covers very little of the head and does not have a base.

Rivkie says: "Ascot's Royal Enclosure has some of the strictest fashion guidelines, but rather than being daunted by the rules, embrace the help they give in guiding your outfit for the occasion."

The official dress code:

 • A dress or skirt falling just above the knee or longer (lace and chiffon fabrics are permitted)
 • Shoulder straps that are a minimum width of 1 inch / 2.5cm
 • A jacket or pashmina may be worn. Tops and dresses beneath must still comply
 • A trouser suit of matching material and colour
 • A jumpsuit that falls below the knee and complies with the shoulder strap requirements
 • Hats must be worn. However, a headpiece or hatinator with a minimum base diameter of 4 inches / 10cm is acceptable.

The Queen Anne Enclosure

The official dress code:

 • A dress or top and skirt, with shoulder or halter neck straps (lace and chiffon fabrics are permitted, no minimum length)
 • A trouser suit of matching material and colour
 • A jumpsuit that falls below the knee and complies with the shoulder strap requirements
 • A hat, headpiece or fascinator

The Village Enclosure

The official dress code:

 • A dress or top and skirt, with shoulder or halter neck straps (lace and chiffon fabrics are permitted, no minimum length)
 • Trouser suits are welcome and should be of matching material and colour
 • Jumpsuits should fall below the knee and comply with the above strap requirements
 • A hat, headpiece or fascinator

The Windsor Enclosure

"Whilst there is no official dress code for the Windsor Enclosure, guests are encouraged to dress in smart daywear. A hat, headpiece or fascinator is encouraged."

FAQs

Should your hat match your shoes?

Superstar stylist Martine Alexander offered us her advice "my message right now is all about being unapologetically YOU.

"So if your personal style, and what makes you feel 'yes this is me' is not matchy matchy - for some people it is, they're very colour coordinated and that's fine because they feel represented in that look - but actually it doesn't have to be that way. You can express your personal style by clashing colours - bag, shoes and hat, as long as the colour palette flows with the dress that you're wearing for Royal Ascot.

"There's nothing to say you can't have two colours in your accessories. As long as it flows it will all work."

Where to shop for Ascot dresses in 2025?

Many of the brands you'd look to for the best wedding guest dresses are great for Royal Ascot. British clothing brands like ME+EM, The Fold, Hobbs, Boden and Phase Eight might have what you're looking for.

Royal-approved brands are a great option if your budget is a bit higher. Martine says: "Zimmermann is great for Royal Ascot. I'd also say Safiyaa, Suzannah London and Claire Mischevani".

What's the difference between a hat and a fascinator?

Hats cover your head, and have a crown and a brim. Keep in mind, this can be very useful on particularly sunny days at the races!

The Royal Ascot dress code refers to a hatinator, which looks like a hat but is perched on a headband. These must have a base of 4 inches or more for the Royal Enclosure.

A fascinator likely won't cover any of the head, and is a clip or headband with a small decorative detail. These are fine for Queen Anne, Village and Windsor enclosures.

<![CDATA[ Victoria Beckham's on-trend toe strap sandals, jeans and white shirt styling is the definition of smart casual ]]> Showing us exactly why we should invest in a pair of simple, toe-strap sandals for summer, Victoria first used her now-discontinued Celine Hiker Flat Ankle Strap Sandals in 2016, to bring a chic flair to her laid-back look of a classic white button up and turned up, straight leg blue jeans.

With chunky leather straps running across the foot and a supportive criss-cross strap hugging the ankle, what makes the style of sandal so trendy in 2025 is the toe strap detail, which plays into a minimal, quiet luxury look.

woman&home's Fashion Ecommerce Editor Caroline Parr said, "I don't know about you, but in the summer months, I want the ease of a slip-in sandal rather than trainers.

"VB's toe loop leather style is a more elevated take on the classic flip-flop, and as she's proving here, they look so chic with blue jeans and a crisp white shirt. The definition of smart casual," she added.

With a low rise waist and relaxed fit, the jeans perfectly blended everyday casual with a more elevated style. The 3/4 length of her shirt sleeves and the slightly oversized fit of the blouse worked to create an ideal day-to-day outfit that would also work in any summer outfit ideas for work.

The flat sandal style was an unexpected choice for Victoria, who rarely ditches her heels. When she does, she is a fan of more sporty styles like adidas's best white trainers; the adidas Women's Grand Td Lifestyle Court Casual Shoes.

But these Celine sandals clearly caught her eye, as she wore them multiple times across the 2010s and even invested in the same style in other colourways - which is always a clever thing to do when you've found a wardrobe staple that you love and know you'll get a lot of wear out of.

Wearing the sandals again in 2018, she gave us an outfit formula we'll be following all summer when she slipped into the white colourway of the Celine sandals and created a monochrome outfit by styling them with tailored white maxi skirt. And, like with her 2016 look, a crisp white shirt completed the sleek, summer-ready outfit.

As well as styling the black sandals with jeans, she's showed off their versatility over the years by also wearing them with a pair of roomy, wide leg suit trousers.

Keeping to a simple colour palette, she styled her black trousers with a crisp white shirt, and carried a black leather shoulder bag to finish off the look and tie in with the black leather of her sandals.

Also, for some white jeans outfit inspiration, she's previously worn the Celine sandals with a pair of white, high waisted jeans and a tailored black shirt.

A truly versatile style staple, we're racing to invest in a pair for ourselves!

<![CDATA[ Barrel legs are out, flattering flares are in – just ask Olivia Munn ]]> Snapped attending "Through Her Lens": The Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Programme, Olivia Munn reminded us why this retro jean style is ready for a comeback. In a pair of high-waisted, statement flared jeans, in this season's washed-out blue hue, Olivia Munn paired her trending jeans with a crisp white shirt and oversized sunnies.

The epitome of Quiet Luxury, the understated ensemble was expertly executed. Dressed head-to-toe in Chanel, the star accented her look with subtle black and gold accessories that included a classic quilted bag with chain strap, an elegant woven and gold chain buckle belt and a coordinating watch for completeness.

The timeless outfit echoed other guests' ensembles, several of whom opted for the latest 2025 denim trends for the occasion. And while barrel leg jeans have been a key look throughout spring, they can be overwhelming when it comes to the sheer volume of fabric from thigh to ankle, while high-waisted flares deliver a much more curve-loving finish.

Olivia Munn revives the flare: the jean style that flatters every shape

When it comes to summer outfit ideas, very little beats the classics and light blue jeans and a white shirt certainly fall into this category. The wide hem of the jeans, coupled with the tucked-in top and cinching belt helps to create a flattering hourglass silhouette

Although the best barrel legs jeans have been the style choice for the past few months, denim trends come and go, and Chanel's penchant for a flared jean is about to put this nostalgic shape back on the fashion map.

Opting for a high-waisted style will help to create a narrowed waistline. This, coupled with the width at the bottom of the hem, creates a well-balanced hourglass throughout.

When styling flared jeans, always keep your top half neat and fitted; tucking in at the waist helps to streamline your frame and ensure your form isn't overwhelmed.

While Chanel's iteration of this trend delivers an exaggerated hem, there are plenty of smaller flares on the market to help ease you into this 70s silhouette.

Get the Look

Denim trends come and go, that's why if you find a great pair of jeans, don't get rid of them if a silhouette falls out of favour, as they will come back to the fore at some point.

The best part of flared jeans? This figure-flattering shape is easy to adapt to your body type, with a range of flares available, from super-sized to gentle kick-flares to ease you in.

When it comes to how to style flared jeans, take notes from Olivia Munn and keep your look simple. The hem shape is already quite the statement, so there is no need to go overboard. Keep your top half tailored and proportionate to balance out the wider leg. Tuck in tops, or go for just-hitting-the-waistline styles to help narrow your middle, and try a short, but strong-shouldered blazer for added polish. The slightly wider shoulder will reflect the hem, giving you an even more emphasised hourglass.

If you're looking to execute a Quiet Luxury look, remember it's all in the subtle details. A white shirt and denim jeans is the ideal combo for this type of outfit. It says that you don't need to go over the top to have confidence in your style. Finish a laidback but put-together ensemble such as this with a great handbag and classic jewellery for an unbeatable look.

<![CDATA[ Ranvir Singh’s pretty strawberry-patterned dress is the perfect pop of summer colour – without overdoing it ]]> Summer style is full of contrast as white dresses always surge in popularity this time of year - but so do vibrant designs and splashy patterns. Taking the plunge and going for a full-on colourful outfit is something that can be quite daunting and yet a white dress can feel overly plain.

This is why Ranvir Singh’s strawberry-patterned dress caught my eye so much when she wore it to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition Preview Party on 11th June. A design like this is an easy way to bring a pop of colour in an understated way.

I was disappointed to discover that her exact M&S X Ghost dress isn’t available anymore, though I will still be taking a lot of inspiration from it for my seasonal looks. It has a vintage-esque style, with a neat collared neckline and puffed short sleeves.

Shop Understated Printed Dresses

The silhouette is elegant and modest, making it perfect for wearing to a christening or a garden party where you want to feel dressed up but still be comfortable. Ranvir’s dress is midi-length and although the bodice is more fitted, the skirt is flowing and loose.

The A-line silhouette is timeless and feels more low-key than a fit-and-flare with its voluminous skirt. Because of this, the presenter could easily have worn a pair of her best white trainers and added a raffia bag to make it seem smart-casual instead.

When you’re wearing patterned pieces the design can sometimes lend itself to being styled formally or for the daytime, but Ranvir’s strawberry-print dress works for both. It’s very delicate and small, meaning that it brings just a hint of colour.

Complete The Look

The red of the strawberries is complemented by the green leaves and pale blue flowers. Each hue stands out from the white base fabric without taking over.

Even if fruit prints aren’t for you, Ranvir Singh’s ensemble shows how much of a difference having a small amount of colour can make to a simple white dress. It’s not too out-there and bright polka dots or tiny flowers can achieve a similar effect to this strawberry pattern.

To make it subtler still, Ranvir accessorised with plain white slingback heels. This time of year, many of us go for flats or espadrilles like the Princess of Wales’s wedges as they are easier to walk on grass in than stilettos.

The presenter didn’t need to worry about this for the exhibition, though she still went comfy with a pair of kitten heels. They had a covered, pointed toe with a mesh upper.

Ranvir completed her outfit for the occasion with an array of different bracelets. On her right wrist there was a stack of silver ones and she wore a single gold one on her left wrist.

When she’s working on Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, she tends to stick to either fully bright pieces or entirely neutral looks. This kind of whimsical patterned dress isn’t something we often see Ranvir reaching for, but I’m really glad she did.

<![CDATA[ Flattering, comfortable, and occasion-ready – Amal Clooney’s navy jumpsuit is a style win ]]> Amal Clooney is a constant source of elegant style inspiration - from her striking red carpet style to her impeccably tailored workwear. But there's clearly one piece she's particularly fond of, which always look effortlessly chic: the jumpsuit.

The human rights lawyer has large collection, featuring some of the best jumpsuits you can buy, which range from neutral colours to more striking tones like burgundy.

But, going through the fashion archives, I've found my favourite in this navy all-in-one that she wore back in 2019. I should know, I'm a fashion editor and have been following Amal's style for years.

Delivering the perfect party outfit inspiration with this look, Amal solidified the one shoulder shape as a go-to for a super flattering look that feels timeless and classic, while also giving off a unique and contemporary flair. The cropped wide leg trouser was a stroke of genius, with the shorter hem creating a modern style too. Plus, the deep blue navy hue is softer than classic black, while still being rich and full of depth - oh and it's got pockets!

Amal wore this jumpsuit, which was designed by one of her favourite designers, Stella McCartney, for a charity gala in Scotland. And it still ticks all the boxes for an on-trend outfit today.

Amal's closet is a haven of timeless and classic pieces, though she's often a fan of updating more understated styles with bright colours, statement shoes and fun accessories. Here, though, she makes a good case for less being more as this pared-back outfit is totally timeless. The structured finish of the satin fabric looks incredibly luxurious and, by matching the shade of navy blue and carrying it through to her choice of shoes, she created an ultra-glamorous outfit.

Of course, though, she couldn't totally ditch her fun accessories and styled the jumpsuit with a punchy leopard print box clutch bag, which we adore with its bold pattern.

How to accessorize

The beauty of finding a jumpsuit you really love is that it takes out all the stress of having to work out if that top works with those trousers. Be prepared to pay a bit more than you might for, say, a skirt, since this is an entire outfit in one. Make the most of the asymmetric neckline by wearing your hair up and adding some earrings.

<![CDATA[ Victoria Beckham swears by this flattering jeans shape, and her tomato red polo top makes them feel so fresh for 2025 ]]> Forget summer dresses, Victoria Beckham's latest look is proof that the old jeans and a nice top formula never fails.

She was pictured looking incredibly chic on the streets of Paris, wearing a pair of slim-fit flare jeans in deep indigo blue, paired with a striking tomato red top, complete with a collar and flattering little sleeves. Add in one of the best designer bags, an Hermes Kelly, some oversized Aviator sunglasses, and - we can only assume - a pair of sky-high platforms, and it's a flawless look on the soon-to-be Lady Victoria.

The jeans are, of course, from her very own collection, and I love the patch pockets and red VB monogram embroidery. If you're going to spend £390 on a pair of jeans, you want the world to know who they're by, right?

The colour pop top really packs a punch in this otherwise minimalist outfit, and it's the perfect lightweight knit for this time of year. This is a simple but very sophisticated look that's easy to recreate, so check out my nine ways to work into your own wardrobe. Then wait for the compliments!

Victoria has long been a fan of this flare shape - slim to the knee, and not overly voluminous, but just enough flare to cover your shoes and make your legs look endless.

<![CDATA[ Kate Middleton just did sharp navy tailoring with an unexpected chunky chain necklace ]]> The Princess of Wales made a stylish appearance in East London as she visited the V&A East Storehouse, dressed in a sharp navy trouser suit with statement gold jewellery.

The outing marked Princess Catherine's return to royal duties, following a short break to spend quality time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis during their half-term holiday.

Kate kept her outfit smart and chic, with a crisp blue suit designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. While we'll never tire of an insight into Catherine's dress collection, we love how she continues to embrace sleek, feminine tailoring and women's trouser suits.

Relying on simple wardrobe staples to style her designer two-piece, Her Royal Highness proved, once again, that she's one to look to for inspiration on blazer styling. She layered the single-breasted piece over a fresh white T-shirt with a dipped round neckline,

Tucking the white upper into her high-rise waistband, Kate reminded us just how perfect a classic black leather belt with a chunky gold buckle can look with a pair of elegant trousers.

Rivkie Baum, Digital Fashion Editor for woman&home, is always pleased to see Catherine embracing streamlined tailoring in pieces made by iconic British labels, hailing her most recent look "polished to perfection".

"When it comes to supporting British brands, we can always rely on Kate Middleton to showcase some of the best. This gorgeous navy trouser suit from designer brand, Alexander McQueen, fits to perfection and the deep blue hue makes a polished but lighter change from classic black," Rivkie says.

"The pared-back look is ideal for a formal occasion and pairing with other neutrals helps to keep this look smart. The addition of a chunky, chained gold necklace gives this outfit a modern finish."

Kate's jewellery of choice is always one of the first things we look at when she appears in public. Her collection is unmatched and the definition of high-low, with priceless Royal Family heirlooms, designer pieces, and some very affordable earrings in the mix.

This time, Princess Catherine strayed from her usual taste in dainty necklaces with delicate chains and subtle pendants, wearing her chunky chain link 4kt gold-plated necklace by Laura Lombardi.

It's one she has worn publicly just a handful of times - but we think it was the perfect choice alongside her slick blue blazer and trousers combination.

<![CDATA[ I'm bookmarking Demi Moore's sharp white blazer and jeans outfit for a smart-casual look that can be easily recreated ]]> Blazer-and-jeans pairings are hardly new, yet it's one of those combinations that I'm always seeking style inspiration for. And Demi Moore's recent outfit – featuring a sharp Schiaparelli blazer and exposed fly button jeans offers the perfect solution for how to style a blazer with jeans in the most elevated and occasion-ready way.

With summer events filling up the calendar – holidays, garden parties, and evening dinners – I've found myself bookmarking ways to style jeans with a blazer that feel sophisticated and considered but not overdone.

Worn to a screening of Landman in LA, Moore's outfit features a sharply tailored Schiaparelli white jacket styled with exposed-fly jeans, gold pointed heels, and an avant-garde yet on-brand face bag from the Italian fashion house.

The combination of bright white tailoring with mid-wash straight leg denim jeans and subtle gold details, such as the button-fly front and gold slingback heels, feels high-end, yet this outfit is incredibly easy to recreate with a few thoughtful styling details.

Moore finished the outfit with large brown aviator sunglasses, an eyewear style that taps into the sunglasses trends for 2025. To finish, Demi chose chunky rings, sculptural hoop earrings, styling details that take the tailored blazer and jeans combination from laid-back cool to smart casual parties and evenings out. Her pointed gold slingback heels also echoed the blazer's standout detailing – a bold front lock, a nod to Schiaparelli's signature surrealist history.

<![CDATA[ Amal Clooney brought pearls up to date in the most unexpected way for her latest red carpet appearance ]]> Modern pearls are up there on our list of jewellery trends 2025, and Amal Clooney just showed us how to incorporate them into occasionwear in a way that's not a necklace or pair of earrings.

She joined husband George Clooney at the Tony Awards in New York over the weekend, wearing a white off-shoulder dress by Tamara Ralph that was dripping in draped pearls. The sleeve detailing is particularly dreamy, and when paired with some white Roger Vivier heels and this Mother of Pearl bag by Jimmy Choo, Amal looked even more glowing than usual. And that's saying something!

When it was shown on the runway, this Spring 2025 Couture collection gown had a dramatic ivory silk train to it, so I love that Amal pared things back a bit. If a dress completely covered in pearls can be called pared-back?

Red carpet events might not be part of our everyday life, but there is inspiration to be found in Amal's old-school Hollywood glamour. There are plenty of pearl-embellished picks out there, starting with this knitted midi dress from French clothing brand Sandro.

We don't see Amal out and about as often as we'd like to, but this super glamorous look makes up for it. She decided on a theme and really committed to it, and it paid off. I'm a big fan of her style, and I'd say this has to be one of her all-time best outfits.

It's such a refreshingly modern take on classic pearls, and woman&home's Fashion Writer Molly Smith agrees. She told me: "White pearls on dresses, skirts and tailoring are making a quiet comeback.

"They add a thoughtful layer of texture that feels vintage and feminine. It's a detail that can transform a garment from laid-back to occasion-ready in an instant, and I love to see red-carpet looks such as Amal's bringing this design detail into the spotlight."

<![CDATA[ June has been drizzly - but Holly Willoughby's Barbour and wellies make us mind less ]]> With June now well underway, we're more than ready for some warm summery days and sunshine, but the month has brought unpredictable, drizzly weather with it so far.

And while we'd much prefer to be slipping into our summer wardrobe favourites, Holly Willoughby just gave us some rainy June day style inspiration that makes us think the showers sticking around a little longer might be worth it.

Taking to Instagram, Holly shared a sweet snap as she ventured out on a dog walk with her Golden Retriever, Bailey. Posing for a fresh-faced selfie, the TV presenting icon showed off her combination of a lightweight rain jacket, chunky boots, and a chic wide-brimmed hat.

Shop Our Drizzly June Picks

For Rivkie Baum, Digital Fashion Editor at woman&home, the blend of a timeless Barbour jacket like Holly's with her other outdoorsy staples is a look that'll simply never go out of style. Even during the warmer months, it's a look that's great to have on hand for when a rainy day strikes.

"Like all of us, Holly is doing her best to cope with the changeable weather right now, and her Barbour jacket is the perfect choice for sudden showers. A much-loved British clothing brand, this heritage label makes some of my stylish outdoor pieces and the best Barbour jackets have a water repellent coating to keep you dry, whilst staying fashionable," Rivkie says.

"Tapping into this summer's utility trend, a Barbour jacket is one to buy now and wear for a lifetime, as you can easily rewax your Barbour jacket to increase its longevity too."

Penning a short caption, Holly joked about the typically unpredictable British weather, listing her "raincoat", "hat", and "wellies" alongside three green tick emojis, adding, "Must must be June."

A trusty rain jacket and a pair of wellies aren't the only rainy summer must-haves to ensure your wardrobe is equipped with. A pair of comfy hiking sandals is ideal if you're a regular walker, and we've tested some great ones.

And we've been keeping our springtime trench coats in regular rotation so far this June, styling them with straight leg jeans or comfy trousers for the balmy yet breezy weather.

<![CDATA[ Emilia Fox gave the classic suit a contemporary makeover - her rose-pink and printed tee pairing is genius ]]> Like so many people, I’ve got more into tailoring in recent years. Perhaps it’s seeing the Princess of Wales shift her style towards gorgeous bright suits that’s inspired me, but whatever the reason, a blazer and trousers always make me feel polished.

There are times when I want to create more of a smart-casual outfit, though, and Emilia Fox has just demonstrated why you should reach for a T-shirt to help with this. The Silent Witness star wore a fabulous rose-pink co-ord to CrimeCon UK London, where she presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Professor David Wilson.

The pair teamed up for In The Footsteps of Killers, which airs on Channel 4, and I’ve also seen them on the BBC’s 2019 documentary, Jack the Ripper - The Case Reopened. Her outfit for the London event was bright and summery, and I love the way she made her suit more relaxed by wearing it with a graphic T-shirt.

Recreate Emilia's Outfit

The T-shirt looks to be from one of the best British clothing brands (and one which Emilia often gravitates towards), Wyse London. Unfortunately, it’s old season, but graphic T-shirts will never go out of fashion and so you can always find an array of them with different prints.

Emilia’s top had ‘Amore’ written on it, as well as four horizontal stripes across the white background. The emerald green, pastel blue and sunny yellow were striking and the pink stripe perfectly matched her tailored pieces.

This helped to bring the whole outfit together and if you want to wear a blazer and trousers with a graphic or printed T-shirt I would recommend picking a design that has either the same colour or a complementary one in it. Alternatively, just go for a plain white, grey or black T-shirt and you know that it’ll work with any suit.

Either way, the casualness of a T-shirt works so well with the structure of tailored co-ords and makes the overall outfit cooler and fashion-forward. A graphic T-shirt is more of a contrast and accentuates the contemporary feel and choosing a vibrant suit colour like hers instantly makes it less corporate and more fun too.

The Silent Witness star’s suit featured a single-breasted pink blazer with a notched lapel collar and straight leg trousers. She left the jacket unbuttoned to add to the off-duty theme and this also meant more of her T-shirt was visible.

The trousers were cropped which also made them feel less business-like and this length showed off her powder blue court heels. If I were putting together an outfit like hers, I would probably swap these for my white trainers which are comfortable for wearing all day long.

As Emilia was at an event and presenting David Wilson with an award, it makes sense that she went dressier with her shoes. She appeared on stage with him during CrimeCon and posted afterwards about the occasion, explaining that she’d also learnt a lot about Inside Justice UK - a charity dedicated to investigating miscarriages of justice.

Emilia Fox is "already looking forward" to the next CrimeCon and I’m looking forward to seeing her and David in season 3 of In The Footsteps of Killers which landed on 10th June, as well as hoping for another sighting of this chic outfit.

<![CDATA[ Julianne Moore's ankle-skimming jeans are the cool and casual denim trend you should be adding to your wardrobe for summer ]]> Julianne Moore is no stranger to the red carpet, but it was this recent off-duty ensemble that had us pondering a denim refresh. Spotted in the ultimate cool but polished outfit, Moore was seen out in New York wearing an oversized double-breasted blazer, plain white t-shirt and one of the best denim trends for 2025, ankle-skimming jeans with a subtle frayed edge.

The blazer kept the look on the formal side of smart casual outfit ideas, even balancing out the frayed hemline, which can sometimes look a little too laidback. Adding a directional edge to the whole look, Julianne Moore accessorised with shoes, sunglasses and a bag all by Italian designer brand, Bottega Veneta, little wonder, as Moore's recent campaign for the label has just dropped.

Answering the much-asked question, can jeans be business casual, Julianne manages to walk the fine line between a relaxed ensemble and a polished finish. By sticking to capsule wardrobe heroes, she created a timeless look, that she can still turn to in years to come, and feel just as put together.

Ankle-cropped denim is the summer trend our jean collection has been waiting for

We love an outfit formula that always works, and this Julianne Moore outfit is the perfect example. Opting for a straight leg jean that finishes at the ankle, is ideal for the summer months and great for showing off those new season shoe buys. The frayed hem adds a little extra fashionability, while the light wash hue is something we're seeing increasingly sported by celebrities, flagging the return of this major '90s trend.

Pairing the slim leg and ankle finish jeans with an oversized blazer ensures the look remains balanced throughout, making everything work harmoniously together. By sticking to a timeless palette, Moore ensures her whole look delivers a Quiet Luxury feel.

With a new Bottega Veneta campaign just out, it is no surprise that Julianne Moore opted for this Italian fashion house for her accessories. The statement woven bag, with coordinating shoes, once again delivered an expensive look and feel without being flashy. Tapping into the sunglasses trends of 2025, she opted for a cat-eye frame, which is as timeless as it is trending.

Get the look

Sometimes, keeping things simple is all you need for a great outfit. While we love incorporating the latest trends into our outfit rotation, knowing you have a wardrobe with great building blocks can make getting dressed a breeze.

A wear-all-year, whatever-the-weather ensemble, jeans and a t-shirt, finished with a blazer is the fallback outfit formula that fashion-lovers turn to time and again to feel both comfortable and put together.

Blue jeans, a white tee and a classic blazer will never go out of style, and while your jean choice will largely revolve around the best jeans for your body type, we find an ankle crop in a straight or kick flare shape is universally flattering, and always chic.

When recreating this look, keep your accessories as polished as the rest of your look, opting for classic shapes and neutral colours for the luxe Quiet Luxury feel that's favoured by A-listers.

<![CDATA[ Kate Garraway just found the easiest way to wear yellow - her citrus-toned heels and shocking pink dress are fabulous ]]> Yellow is one of those colours that many people either love or steer away from and I tend to do the latter. This isn’t because I don’t like yellow, but because I find it trickier to style than other colours like green and pink.

Butter yellow in particular has been hugely on-trend this season and vivid yellows are fun, so it was great to see Kate Garraway styling this bold tone in a way I can easily recreate. The Good Morning Britain host recently wore a shocking pink dress with a pair of citrus-yellow court heels.

The presenter shared a glimpse of this look in a post on Instagram with her brilliant stylist Debbie Harper, who revealed that the shoes were from Kate’s wardrobe. These would be perfect to wear to the races, as well as to a wedding, or just when you want to make a statement on date night.

Shop Yellow Shoes For Summer

Shop Bright Pink Dresses Like Kate's

Kate Garraway regularly wears court heels for work and the contrast between the timeless design and the vivid yellow colour of this pair made them so eye-catching. If you’re going to invest in bright shoes, I’d recommend taking a similar approach.

The more classic you go design-wise, the more flamboyant you can get with the shade as the style will help to balance it out and make sure it’s not overwhelming. Kate’s heels were a true, sunshine yellow and screamed summer to me.

Her choice of footwear was a clever way to add yellow into her ensemble without resorting to a full-on yellow outfit. Everywhere on the high street and online I’ve been seeing yellow dresses, cardigans and shirts, but shoes make up only a small part of your look.

This means that yellow doesn’t have to be the focus of an outfit, yet you can enjoy the joyfulness of this popular colour. If you pair yellow sandals or heels with a white dress or a neutral T-shirt and linen trousers, the shoes suddenly become a lot more understated.

Alternatively, you can use them to accessorise brighter outfits too, delivering a colour-clash effect. This is what Kate Garraway did, as her Hansine silk dress was magenta.

If you love pink, then this would be one of the best wedding guest dresses for you, thanks to its formal, sophisticated silhouette. The brand describes it as being an "ode to vintage elegance" and it has billowing sleeves and ruching at the neck and cuffs.

The colour makes a statement and although you might not have imagined it complementing citrus-yellow, it really did. Both colours were the same level of boldness, and this is a combination often seen with flowers which made it feel more harmonious.

Kate’s dress and court shoes were just as striking together as the Boden floral dress she wore back in February. This also features pops of pink and yellow and it seems that her love for wearing vibrant colours isn’t going anywhere.

<![CDATA[ Zara Tindall made this distinctive colour a summer must-have – her pretty jumpsuit is from a high street favourite ]]> While we love Zara's collection of casual staples, from her favourite jeans to her best white trainers, it's her bright and playful approach to formal wear that really catches our attention. She has never been one to shy away from bright and bold colour and one specific look of her's from last year sticks in the mind.

Rivalling any of the best wedding guest dresses, she stepped out in the Silk Wide Leg Jumpsuit from ME+EM (which is still available to buy) for the 2024 Celebrity Golf Classic tournament. The striking magenta jumpsuit still takes the ticket as one of the best jumpsuits we've seen her in and was the epitome of summer occasion dressing. Ideal for formal events, or for adding a bright pop of colour to your holiday wardrobe, it proves that even the most vivid hues can be beautifully sophisticated.

Sure, experimenting with colour in your wardrobe can be daunting, but the stunning magenta shade of Zara's jumpsuit has us re-evaluating that fear.

The luxurious and quiet luxury look of muted neutrals and timeless white dresses will always have their place in formal wear, but Zara proves that stepping out of your comfort zone and going bright and bold with your outfit choices can really pay off.

This purple-toned pink is a really flattering colour on her, with it complementing her skin tone and sleek blonde bob perfectly - we're sold on magenta.

Aside from the summery palette, the cut and silhouette of this jumpsuit are what really stand out. Loose and flowing at the legs with unique details above the waist, the eye is instantly drawn upwards to the standout neckline and cutout detail. Cutouts can be tricky to get right, especially in formal wear, but this particular take on the trend is a brilliant example of how to incorporate them into your wardrobe tastefully.

With a high neckline, feminine ruffled shoulder detailing, and wide pleated trousers that are ideal for staying cool in the warmer months, both comfort and sophistication are covered.

Ready to take the plunge with a similarly statement hue but wondering what colour suits me? This is a shade that will work for every skin tone, so there is really no going wrong.

<![CDATA[ I’m recommending this Radley tote to all of my friends this summer – it doubles as the best cabin and beach bag ]]> I recently spent five nights in the Maldives, a trip that involved two flights, a seaplane, and a boat, and the Radley Canvas Tote Bag that came with me was not only one of the best beach bags, but it also doubled as the most practical travel accessory.

After a last-minute, frantic search for a holiday-ready bag that works for both the beach and long travel days, I stumbled upon this canvas tote. The appeal of this style is obvious; it’s structured, spacious, and works if you're wondering what to wear on a plane as well as beach days. I used it as my carry-on for the long-haul flights and managed to fit in everything I needed: my headphones, a book, snacks, a charger, and a jumper with room to spare.

And once we arrived, the bag doubled as a beach bag effortlessly. Each morning, I packed it with a towel, water, suncream, mosquito spray, and other beach essentials, and was amazed at just how spacious (and stylish) it was.

In terms of travelling, the attachable internal purse was a lifesaver. Anyone who knows me tends to assume that I shouldn't be trusted with passports, but this time my partner actually handed them over to me because I had somewhere safe and secure to put them. As well as some other key essentials, such as our physical flight confirmation and my headphones.

The magnetic closure means that you can quickly and securely close up the bag when needed, which also adds to its appeal. It has winged sides which can be tucked inwards if you're looking to change the appearance of the tote, and shrink its footprint, adding to its versatility.

Aesthetically, its canvas material looks and feels elevated and pairs perfectly with almost any colourway. In the daytime, I would pair it with my Boden swimwear pieces, which thanks to the bold, vibrant prints, needed the soft neutral tone of the bag to balance them.

I also wore it alongside my favourite beach coverups in bright blue or crimson red botanical prints. The neutral tone went with almost everything, which is an essential characteristic when trying to keep packing to a minimum.

If you’re looking for a travel tote that can double up as an excellent beach bag, this should be a top contender. It’s now earned a permanent place when it comes to packing holiday outfit ideas, and I'm even using it for daily commuting and warm-weather weekend outings too.

<![CDATA[ Halle Berry just made a case for the return of ripped jeans - her blazer and sandals brought this denim up to date ]]> It’s safe to say that a blazer and jeans combination is up there with the very best when it comes to smart casual outfit ideas, and it’s a timeless look I will often opt for, as it works for a wide range of occasions.

The blend of a polished, tailored jacket and casual jeans is such a winning fashion formula and will sit equally well for a day at the office as it will for a shopping trip or a dinner date. There are plenty of ways to update the look, too, and Halle Berry just showed us how with one of her most recent outfits.

The 58-year-old actress rocked a soft white blazer and T-shirt with a pair of straight-leg jeans that had ripped detailing down the front and a raw hem. She finished her high-meets-low combination with a top-handle Gucci bag and some slip-on Loewe Petal Anagram leather sliders. I love every item that the star is wearing, but it's Halle's jeans that really caught my attention.

It's been a while since I spotted a pair of distressed denim trousers looking so sharp, as over the last few seasons we have seen a real lean towards barrel leg jeans and simpler straight-leg styles. Halle has worn slashed denim a number of times over the last few weeks and styled them differently each time. She has made a very strong case for a ripped denim revival, and I, for one, am really happy to see some torn jeans out in the open again. I will definitely be digging out my old pair to recreate Halle's look.

Halle’s outfit is a total wardrobe winner and very easy to recreate but if you're still unsure about the distressed denim trend, I totally get it. The slashed knees may seem a little bit grungy, but when it comes to styling, simply wear your ripped bottoms as you would any of your other jeans.

I will wear mine with an oversized T-shirt and my leopard print ballet flats for weekend plans, or for a busy work day, I will match them with a button-down white shirt and shiny loafers.

They have a more casual feel than plainer jeans, so they are probably best suited to daytime dressing, but you can always finish them with heels and a silky cami as a fresh take on date night outfits.

<![CDATA[ I'm thinking of buying a new designer handbag, but this time it's for my dog, let me explain... ]]> As an accessories-loving fashion editor, I can chart many of the key milestones of my life through my collection of the best designer handbags. And, over the years, I've managed to collect three handbags from one of the best British brands, Mulberry.

Starting with a Roxanne mini purchased at my first ever sample sale as an intern, then a Darley in a gorgeous collegiate stripe (another sample sale find) and an Alexa for my 30th birthday, I thought my Mulberry bag trio was complete until I laid eyes on their latest collection of accessories.

However, this time it's not a bag for me but rather my family's smallest member, Seff the miniature dachshund. At 13 years old, Seff still commutes with me to different freelance jobs, but given his age, he doesn't always fancy walking - who could blame him?

Mulberry's new pet accessories collection is so chic

Our current dog carrier has served us well but it's looking decidedly worse for wear and now that I've spied this chic oxblood number from Mulberry, I can't get it out of my head. Priced at £995, it's not a cheap option but given that it could easily double up as a regular tote, could it be a sound investment for my smallest charge and myself as a new handbag?

It even has environmental credentials too as the bag is made from a beautiful oxblood small classic grain leather that is surplus to the production of the brand's main range of handbags, meaning that there is less leather waste from the factory floor.

The Mulberry dog carrier has all of the hallmarks of a traditionally quiet luxury handbag from the brand too, featuring an embossed signature logo, sublime stitching and a clever pocket on the body side of the bag for essentials. However, given that it is first and foremost a bag for your furry friend, it also has other clever details. The bag is lined in wipe-clean nylon rather than cotton to allow for easy cleaning, there's a clip to attach to your dog's collar to stop them leaping out that could double as a key clip when they're not there and one side of the gusset opening features a discreet added section to provide additional protection for your dog's body at the rear.

I decided to take it for a spin around the streets of West London. It was the perfect accessory to elevate my smart casual outfit consisting of my favourite Mint Velvet Leopard jeans, a denim jacket and sunglasses.

(Image credit: Antonia Kraskowski | Future)

Designed for toy boys and small breeds only, I'm lucky that Seff the sausage dog fits easily inside it. As a slightly larger miniature dachshund he quickly fills most of the bag up, not leaving much space for anything other than essentials.

Alongside the Mulberry dog carrier bag, the brand has also created a limited edition collection of stylish dog accessories for a head-to-tail look. As well as typical dog accessories in the form of leads and collars plus two cool key rings, Mulberry have reimagined two of their classic bag styles as dog owner essentials.

The Mulberry Lily (dog) bag, one of the best affordable designer handbags on the market, has been scaled down into miniature form to create the perfect dog treat carrier, while the Mulberry Bayswater (dog bag) appears as a tiny taupe iteration designed to hold a roll of dog waste bags.

Even if you're not a dog owner, these chic miniature bags could easily be some of the best bag charms to adorn your handbag too, so even if you don't have a furry friend, priced at £295, they're great entry points to the brand.

SHOP THE COLLECTION

Would I be willing to spend £995 on a bag that was just for my dog? Maybe not, but given the beautiful classic cut of the Mulberry bag itself, the classic oxblood hue and the fact that it can easily double up as a tote bag big enough to carry my laptop, I'm giving it serious thought, because I can max out that cost-per-wear and both Seff and I can benefit from this beautiful purchase.

At the very least, I'll definitely be treating Seff to a cool new leather collar and the cross-body lead so that he can maintain his status as best dressed dog... and maybe a tiny Bayswater bag for me to clip onto my bag for his walk essentials.

As timeless as black or tan, the oxblood colourway looks incredibly decadent and is so easy to style too, teaming with everything from denim to more formal items.

Whether you go for the big purchase (and share with your pup), or start small with accessories, there is no question that this a super stylish collection for those who want their dog to look as fashion forward as their owners.

<![CDATA[ Eddie Redmayne's wife Hannah Bagshawe just wore the high street denim shirt dress that solves any wardrobe dilemma ]]> If you're beginning to think about what to wear to Wimbledon, then the good news is the French Open can offer plenty of inspiration ahead of time. The tennis tournament ends today, and celebrity spectators who have been spotted at Stade Roland Garros in Paris so far include And Just Like That... stars Cynthia Nixon, Sarita Choudhury and Kristin Davis.

But our favourite outfit has to be Hannah Bagshawe's. Eddie Redmayne's wife wore a simple but très chic blue denim midi shirt dress, which is from none other than high street favourite Cos. Hannah is often spotted on the red carpet in dreamy designer dresses by Alexander McQueen, so it shows just how good this little number is.

Her £115 denim midi shirt dress has now sold out, but there are similar styles still available on the site. I love the longer length, slightly dropped waist and belt loop detailing, and the beauty of a dress like this is how versatile it is. Wear it à la Hannah with a pair of platform Superga trainers, or on super hot days with some Birkenstocks. Then, in the cooler weather, knee-high boots will add a really sophisticated feel.

Hannah isn't the only fan of a denim shirt dress like this. In recent weeks, we've fallen for the Gabriela Hearst style that Kate Middleton and Gillian Anderson have both worn.

It's such an effortless option that you don't have to overthink - you can throw it on, whether you're keeping things casual or dressing up for a bigger occasion. It's certainly a good idea for a day of watching tennis at Wimbledon, as it will work for both warm and cool temperatures, and will keep you feeling comfortable for a long day of walking and enjoying strawberries and cream!

<![CDATA[ Meg Ryan's chunky boots and printed T-shirt feel like the fresh way to wear tailoring in 2025 ]]> While summer weather often lends itself better to floaty dresses and linen palazzo trousers, there is no reason to completely drop classic tailored pieces just because the temperatures have risen.

A loose yet well-fitted pair of trousers can easily work in the sunshine, and can often feel just as breezy and wearable as a traditional wide leg, all the while looking a little more polished. A perfect example of wearing tailored separates at this time of year is Meg Ryan’s chic T-shirt and trouser ensemble, which the actress wore while visiting a museum in Spain recently.

The 63-year-old teamed this printed Loewe T-shirt with a pair of black barrel-leg trousers, which were high-waisted and had neat pleat details down the front. When it comes to smart casual outfit ideas, this one really works, and Meg finished it perfectly with a pair of chunky black boots and some rounded sunglasses.

The whole ensemble worked nicely together, and it's brilliantly versatile, because she buddied up a casual type of top with a preppy and fitted pair of bottoms. This look could easily work for a shopping trip, cocktail hour, or the office, and I will definitely be recreating it over the coming weeks.

When it comes to browsing for summer-ready trousers, look for light and breathable fabrics like cotton and linen, and opt for slightly looser leg shapes that won't cling, as this will keep you feeling comfortable on even the warmest of days.

I love Meg’s chunky boots, but for a softer footnote, opt for your leopard print ballet flats or a simple pair of chunky espadrilles. To take your tailored bottoms from daytime to playtime, try switching out casual footwear for a pair of court shoes or metallic strappy heels too.

<![CDATA[ I feel relaxed just looking at Jennifer Lopez’s latest outfit – it's comfy-chic at its finest ]]> It doesn’t matter if Jennifer Lopez is wearing a fancy gown on the red carpet or her best wide-leg jeans and a sweatshirt while out running errands, the star always, and I mean, always looks fantastic. The 55-year-old singer seems to nail it with every outfit choice and manages to make even the simplest of ensembles look fancy.

A perfect example of her fashion know-how is the outfit she recently shared on Instagram. JLo posted a picture of herself wearing an oversized white T-shirt with beige wide-leg trousers, and she finished the look with a pair of Nike x Commes Des Garcons Cortez Platform Trainers, a soft grey cap and her signature aviator sunglasses.

Rested on the sofa next to her was an Hermes Birkin, too. Apart from the very luxurious designer bag, Jennifer’s combination is a low-key and comfy-looking outfit, and it proves that even everyday basics really can have a high-end feel.

The star looked really comfortable in her ensemble, and it’s one of those outfits that would be perfect for travelling, a trip to the shops or just a day at home. The soft and muted colour palette feels very clean and classic, and her sporty accessories added some oomph without being too much. Want to get in her relaxed vibe, as much as I do? I have rounded up some similar buys below to recreate her look.

Loose, wide-leg trousers like JLo’s are not only easy to wear, but are surprisingly flattering as the floaty shape will sit at your waist and then skim over hips for a leg-lengthening finish. Wear yours with a basic tee, or give them a slightly smarter spin with a fresh white shirt or a fine knit jumper.

Every wardrobe should include a very comfy pair of bottoms, and a soft beige pair like Jennifer’s is a wise investment – they will look chic however you wear them and will add an A-lister feel to your casual weekend plans.

<![CDATA[ Simple, chic and ageless: Amal Clooney’s summer whites are a reminder timeless style doesn't have to be hard ]]> While we all might be ready to break out our summer-ready mini dresses, the spring weather doesn't always allow us to. But Amal Clooney found a chic workaround when she styled her white mini dress with a pair of snakeskin heels and, to combat the rain, a practical long trench coat.

There have been only a handful of standout trends that have received 'it' item status this year, with adidas Sambas dominating our shoe capsule wardrobes and, when it comes to our jackets, none has rocketed in popularity quite like the trench coat. Beginning the year as a winter capsule wardrobe staple, a throwback look from Amal Clooney has proved that the trench will be going nowhere throughout spring as she styled hers with a summer-ready mini dress to battle the rain and keep just warm enough as the cold weather dissipates.

Snapped while out in New York back in 2022, Amal created an elegant and elevated monochrome outfit by pairing a timeless white shift dress with an off-white, longline trench coat. Her trench, which she left unbuttoned, provided the perfect amount of warmth and practical waterproofing when paired with the chic mini dress, with a pair of snakeskin print court shoe heels finishing off the look and bringing in a subtle pop of pattern.

woman&home's Fashion Ecommerce Editor Caroline Parr says: "Invest in a good trench coat, and it won't only see you through April showers. You'll be wearing it long into summer too! Choose a lighter colour and a lightweight colour for the perfect warm weather cover-up."

While Amal's dress is a mini, it still offers lots of coverage thanks to its high-sitting neckline, which runs high across the collarbones and accentuates the shoulders beautifully. Playing into this clean, sharp and simple look, the loose-fitting bodice of Amal's dress plays into this understated though flattering look, with an A-line silhouette at the skirt giving a 60s-style shift dress feel that's so classic and timeless.

There are plenty of similar dress styles available on the high street, with sleeveless styles made all the more wearable with high, flattering necklines like that of Amal's dress.

As her mini dress itself was simple and classic, Amal leaned into this with her accessories. She completed the look with a black leather handbag, as she does with most of her outfits, and it's no wonder she often opts for a classic black handbag like this one. It's a great, staple accessory that can take you effortlessly from day to night and occasion to occasion, oozing luxury and sophistication no matter how it is styled.

With minimal jewellery, our eyes were drawn to Amal's choice of shoe. Playing into the classic feel of the rest of her outfit while also adding a fun pop of pattern, Amal opted for a pair of classic court-style heels to accessorise the dress. Their snakeskin print and blend of neutral tones brought in a nice pop of texture while still playing into the muted and almost monochrome outfit, proving yet again that you can never go wrong with some animal print.

Amal threw on a crisp, white double-breasted trench coat over the top of the dress, with the neutral colour matching the tone of her outfit perfectly for a sleek style that oozes sophistication. We've actually seen Amal in this coat before, and she even paired it with the same snakeskin heels too! Though she opted to add a little more colour and wore a beautiful green midi dress with the two staples, proving their impressive versatility.

The entire look is a masterclass in simple yet sophisticated styling, with the white mini dress, snakeskin heels, trench coat and handbag all being wardrobe staples that can effortlessly transition through seasons and occasions.

<![CDATA[ I hate getting my feet out in summer but Katie Holmes' love affair with black Birkenstocks has me inspired ]]> Pulling together my summer capsule wardrobe, I'm always left stumped at exactly which footwear I'm going to rely on throughout the season, but Katie Holmes' go-to black Birkenstocks could be for me.

I'm not a huge fan of getting my feet out, even when I have a fresh summer pedicure. But this year Katie has inspired me to get my toes out with her comfortable summer staple. She's been spotted numerous times wearing the Birkenstock 1774 Arizona Sandals over the past few summers.

With the same iconic two-strap, slide-on design of Birkenstock's other Arizona styles, Katie's 1774 pair has an all-black colourway and shining buckle. This makes them look so sleek and versatile, not to mention comfortable, with their smooth nappa leather footbed and EVA sole that keeps them super flexible.

At £380, they're not the most affordable Birkenstocks on offer - but the brand do have a whole range of black Arizona sandals at a more affordable price.

woman&home's Fashion Ecommerce Editor Caroline Parr says she can't live without her sandals in the summer months. She says, "Once you go Birky, you'll never look back! Endlessly versatile, super comfortable, and celebrity-approved, they're such a good investment. I'd recommend sticking to classic black in order to maximise your wardrobe options."

In the height of July back in 2021, Katie slipped into her pair to finish off a laid-back, easy-going outfit of muted, neutral joggers and a black muscle tee.

Nailing the comfy-chic look, the slightly cropped hem of her trousers cut off at a super flattering ankle length, and the simple, two-strap look of the sandals worked alongside this to create a sleek and streamlined look against her bare ankle.

With a baseball cap and simple black crossbody finishing off the outfit, it's hard to imagine a different pair of shoes working as well with this casual look as Katie's Birkenstocks do.

She also proved the sandals' brilliance at finishing off more dressier, elevated styles when, in July 2020, she created a monochrome outfit by pairing them with a summer-ready black mini dress, statement belt, and a pair of oversized sunglasses.

Back in 2020, Katie leaned into another elevated though still perfectly casual look when she styled her Birkenstocks with a denim midi skirt and simple plain white tee. Channeling the best of 90s fashion, the simple a-line denim midi cut off just below the knee and boasted a comfortable high waist.

<![CDATA[ After years of wearing jeans on repeat, I've embraced striped trousers - I only wish I'd tried this flattering trend sooner ]]> My wardrobe is full of boldly patterned tops, colour pop dresses and playful accessories. I love wearing colour and print, but when it comes to trousers, not so much. I’m a curvy size 12 and carry most of my weight on my hips so I have always opted for my jeans or black tailored trousers on my lower half, as I’ve worried that patterned pieces wouldn’t look very flattering or would draw attention to the areas I’d rather keep out of the spotlight.

After seeing celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Poppy Delevingne wearing stripey trousers recently, though, I was tempted to be a bit braver and try something new. Stripes are one of those key spring/summer fashion trends that seem to come around every year, and I've spent over a decade writing about the leg-lengthening effect they can have and just how versatile they can be. I decided to practice what I preach and try it for myself, and I'm happy to report I'm now hooked.

The first pair I tried was a red and white silky style from Yours Clothing. They were super comfy and floaty to wear in the sun, and I wore them with a graphic print T-shirt and some comfortable trainers. I felt very free to be wearing something other than my heavier jeans, so I quickly invested in another striped pair.

This time, I opted for blue and brown lined trousers from Asos. They had a barrel leg fit, which I really love, and a slightly thicker fabric, which felt quite smart. I wore mine with a plain top and sandals on holiday and had zero complaints - they were fun to wear and easy to move around in while I chased my little ones around during our busy days.

I’ve found both pairs to be dreamy to wear, and they are far more flattering than I expected. I’m kicking myself for not trying this trend sooner, as I love how they look and how much fun they bring to my wardrobe.

If you're unsure about trying this look, I urge you to face your fear and give stripes a go. I'm pleasantly surprised, and I've been wearing mine again and again over the last few weeks.

Shop Striped Trousers

I'd recommend shopping around and trying on a few pairs to find your best fit, and it's worth considering your body type and your personal style to find the right shape and stripe for you. I like bright and bold colourways, but if you prefer something more understated, then a classic pinstriped grey or navy pair would look just as chic and might feel a little less daunting.

When it comes to styling stripes, you have plenty of options. Buddy them up with plain separates like a classic shirt or plain vest top, or make even more of a statement with a different type of stripe or a slogan T-shirt.

There isn't an age limit on this cheerful trend either. I asked fellow Fashion Editor Julie Player for tips on styling striped trousers when you're over 50, and she told me: "I’ve got a fabulous blue and white striped linen suit that I love wearing in the summer, but when I wear it, I’m inevitably subjected to ‘jovial’ comments.

"Luckily, I’ve got the confidence to completely ignore these ‘helpful’ comments and wear the suit regardless. But to be fair, they may have a point. Wearing a loose-fitting pair of striped trousers with a matching top is always going to give off pyjama vibes, and most women over 50 don't want to look like they've just got out of bed!

"Instead, elevate your stripey trousers with classic, tailored items. Try pairing with a white T-shirt and fitted blazer, adding simple gold jewellery to finish the look. Alternatively, team with clashing florals or polka dots for a fun, more relaxed vibe."

<![CDATA[ Excuse the pun, but these tennis-inspired pieces by one of my favourite British brands are *ace* ]]> Wimbledon is just weeks away, and it won’t be long until the A-listers gather court-side to watch some of the world’s biggest tennis stars compete for the coveted trophy. While I really do love the sporty action, in all honesty, it’s the classic and quintessentially British outfits worn by the celebrity fans that really get me excited - from Kate Middleton to Sienna Miller, I love checking out all the best Wimbledon looks each summer.

I adore the crisp shirt and blazer combinations as well as elegant tea dresses, and although I won’t actually be attending a match, the whole Wimbledon vibe seems to take over my wardrobe for a few weeks each year, and I find myself dressing a little more preppy to channel some Centre Court chic into my outfits.

So imagine my joy, when I discovered that Boden’s latest drop is filled with tennis-inspired pieces that are absolutely perfect for this time of year - the British clothing brand has aced it with a whole host of stylish staples that are covered in a playful racket print, and I couldn’t love it anymore if I tried.

There’s everything from polished A-line skirts and button-down shirts to a simple jersey top and a tiered maxi, and each of them is covered with a vintage-looking print.

When it comes to Wimbledon-inspired style, it’s officially game, set and match with this cheery collection.

Shop The Collection

Wimbledon kicks off on the 30th June, and amongst the spectators you'll often spot famous faces including the Princess of Wales, Zara Tindall and Queen Camilla, so I'm already looking forward to seeing their wardrobe choices.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised to see some celebrities wearing pieces from this Boden range while watching the tennis, as it’s the perfect way to celebrate the sport in style.

The joyful print doesn’t have to be saved just for watching a match either, as the pieces are all total classics, and the statement pattern will work all summer long. If bolder prints feel a little daunting, simply tone them down with plain separates, denim and your best white trainers.

<![CDATA[ Helen Skelton’s sunshine yellow co-ord will add holiday vibes to your summer wardrobe ]]> I don’t want to jinx it, but I feel like summer will be back any minute, and that means we can finally pack away our extra layers and embrace all the spring/summer fashion trends properly.

If you're looking to update your warm weather wardrobe but aren't sure where to start, in my opinion, you really can't go wrong with bright colours and bold florals as they always feel fresh and fun for the sunny season. It seems that Helen Skelton feels the same way, as the presenter shared some recent photos on Instagram wearing a gorgeous co-ord set that ticked off both key trends perfectly, and it had a lovely holiday vibe that is perfect for this time of year.

Helen looked amazing in a patterned top and skirt set from Zara, and the 41-year-old finished the matchy-matchy combination with a pair of tan strappy sandals and some timeless aviator sunglasses. The star looked gorgeous, and it's one of those looks that will work just as well for a summer wedding as it will for daytime plans – you’ll get endless wardrobe mileage out of this statement co-ord.

Shop the Look

Bright botanical prints like Helen’s set will really wow when worn together, but if you're unsure about wearing top-to-toe bold blooms, you can easily dress down each separate with some clever styling. Try teaming the skirt with a crisp white button-down or a slouchy grey T-shirt, and the top will sit well with your barrel leg jeans or layered under a classic blazer.

However you choose to wear them, the co-ord will work for this season and for summers to come – buy now, and love forever!

<![CDATA[ Giving a classic trouser suit a seasonal refresh, Sharon Stone's scarf belt is the clever styling hack to try this summer ]]> Looking polished but relaxed, Sharon Stone was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills this week. Sporting a neutral women's trouser suit, the A-list actress opted for a muted two-piece, teamed with a capsule wardrobe staple, a white blouse. Adding a pop of colour with a bright top-handle bag, it was actually the star's scarf belt that really grabbed our attention.

A clever reinvention of this timeless accessory, rather than opting for a leather belt, Sharon Stone reached for a silky scarf to add detail to her waistline. This super simple styling hack added a splash of print to her outfit, and demonstrated a clever way of making scarves work harder in your wardrobe and adding interest to classic outfits.

One of the most popular accessories of 2025, the neck scarf fashion trend has been a huge hit for style savvy shoppers, but Sharon Stone's rework of the look adds longevity to any new scarf buys and is a great switch-up for classic leather belts.

Styling scarf belts

Worn much like a regular belt, Sharon Stone weaved her printed scarf through the belt loops of her trousers, before tying it to fasten it. Leaving a little bit of the scarf loose for a burst of brightness and texture, the chic styling hack is one you can recreate on trousers, jeans or skirts.

By using the belt loops, Sharon ensured her scarf would stay in place, ensuring her look would feel smart, rather than running the risk of the scarf untying and falling off. The added detail at the waist, drawing the eye in at a centre point, helped to create an hourglass silhouette, even with a blazer obscuring the star's shape.

Coordinating her bag and scarf, as the colour focuses of the look, Sharon's muted attire allowed her accessories to steal the show, and the heeled loafers felt like a directional nod to the shoe trends of 2025, whilst remaining in line with her tailored ensemble.

An easy look to recreate, whether you're reworking current scarves or investing in new ones, opt for larger sizes so that you get a decent-sized knot. Pair bright colours or bold prints with neutral ensembles, this is a great one for refreshing denim, or go fully maximalist and team print on print.

Get the look

While the scarf belt might not be the item you immediately notice on Sharon Stone's ensemble, this subtle detail sparked our interest straight away, because it's the finishing touches that make her look Quiet Luxury. Elegant but not shouty, with just the right amount of accessorising and colour to have a look that feels cohesive but directional.

For a winning outfit formula every time, curate for yourself a solid foundation of building block items. Neutral suiting, timeless jeans, and crisp white shirts and t-shirts all fall into this category. These items don't go in and out of fashion, but they do help to hold an outfit together and allow you to play with accessories to add in a more modern or cutting-edge element to an outfit, without your look feeling cluttered.

The scarf belt is one such styling tool, and it's such an easy win. Try Sharon Stone's look with a pair of indigo jeans and a simple t-shirt to help you get used to the look, and let those compliments roll in.

<![CDATA[ Sarah Jessica Parker’s breezy white shirt is the effortless summer staple we all need ]]> We're big fans of easy, comfortable styling here at woman&home, and Sarah Jessica Parker nailed it with a breezy white shirt and relaxed trousers while out and about in New York last summer.

When we think of SJP's most memorable outfits, images of tutus and, of course, Manolo Blahnik heels come to mind. But the actress proved she knows how to style comfortable and cosy loungewear pieces too with this ensemble.

For this particular outing she was seen wearing something we never thought we would see her in; tracksuit bottoms. Styling the comfortable staple, she showed us exactly how to transform loungewear into the ideal elevated casual wear by pairing hers with a baggy white shirt and some sporty, off-white adidas trainers.

If you're someone who wants to prioritise comfort in your capsule wardrobe but struggles to make more casual pieces look sophisticated, this look is one to take inspiration from.

woman&home's Fashion Ecommerce Editor Caroline Parr agrees: "SJP's look is the epitome of business on the top, casual on the bottom. Who knew a crisp white shirt and pearls would work so well with joggers and sneakers? I love what she's done with the laces too. It's rare to see her wearing anything other than heels, so you know these trainers must be good!"

While trackies might not be the item that comes to mind when we think of SJP, when you take in her styling, this outfit still feels characteristically like the fashion icon we've come to know and love. Her voluminous waved hairstyle and the addition of a long pearl necklace help to make this relaxed outfit feel more refined, with us learning a valuable styling lesson when it comes to accessories.

Even the simplest addition of your favourite necklace or pair of earrings can make loungewear look chic. Try out some of 2025's biggest jewellery trends for a timely look, Channel the Princess of Wales' style with some Monica Vinader top picks, or copy Carrie's look with some pearls that will complement any colour palette.

Shop SJP's look

Although tracksuit bottoms are designed for lounging around, there are plenty of ways to make them feel smarter for all manner of occasions. Straight leg cuts typically have a chicer feel than cuffed options, and dark hues tend to be easier to dress up than lighter ones.

The simplest method for making them appear put-together is balancing out the slouchy silhouette with a tailored top like a button-up shirt or blouse that has a formal feel. Or, if you want to wear an equally as comfortable top, a crisp white slogan tee is both loose and fashion-forward, whilst being more elevated than loungewear options. Come autumn, a chic cardigan or cashmere jumper can offer cosiness and a smart look that will even be suitable for the office.

Finish off the outfit with a pair of the best white trainers or some ballet flats to bring a feminine feel back to the oversized shape of your look without sacrificing the comfort appeal.

<![CDATA[ FYI, this swimsuit is available up to a K cup - great news if you're looking for a supportive style to take on holiday ]]> The flights are booked, and the beach awaits! Maybe now is the time to treat yourself to a new swimsuit? Investing in flattering, well-designed swimwear will not only boost your confidence (we all like to look our best in the holiday reels!) but enable you to go from the sunbed to the sea in style.

Finding swimwear for your body shape will ensure you not only look great but feel comfortable too. The best swimsuit brands will use good quality fabrics with plenty of stretch and clever design details to show off your best bits, while giving the support you need to feel confident. Some of the latest swimwear trends can be tricky to wear, regardless of your age or shape (crochet fabrics and cut-out designs are two trends that might not make my suitcase!), but there are plenty of other designs that are equally as stylish and easier to wear.

I'm a fashion editor and personal stylist with lots of experience in helping women find swimwear that makes them feel great. Investing in a well-fitting swimsuit that will be comfortable to wear and perform well is always a good idea.

Bravissimo is one of the best bra brands with thirty years' experience and expertise in designing the best bras for women with big busts. I have worn many of their bras, including the bestselling Millie balcony bra, which is one of my everyday favourites.

Alongside bras, they also design a range of swimwear that offers the same support. I popped along to my local branch to be fitted; they also offer virtual fittings and online advice, which is advisable if you want a great fit. I decided to try the Bravissimo Koh Samui swimsuit as I was intrigued to see if it offered the same support as other more structured styles. I took this swimsuit to Portugal and tested its performance in the swimming pool, and took note of how supported I felt when walking around. I wore it for a couple of hours each day and made note of how comfortable it felt. Here are my findings...

Bravissimo Koh Samui Swimsuit

Bravissimo Koh Samui Swimsuit review

Shape & design

With a gathered neckline that ties in the centre, this swimsuit can be adjusted to completely cover or reveal your cleavage. The sides are gathered too, which creates soft folds over the tummy area. The straps are fixed and can be easily adjusted at the back.

Turn the swimsuit inside out and you will discover that it's fully lined (the front lining is firmer than the back) and there's a separate underwired bra with full-coverage cups. This section is attached to the side seam and clasps at the back. The legs are cut to sit higher on the hip. The back of the swimsuit will fully cover your bottom and is cut away just below the clasp, creating the illusion that you are wearing a high-waisted bikini, rather than a one-piece.

Support & fit

I love the fact that you can adjust the neckline of this swimsuit to get the right fit. I felt fully supported and contained wearing a size 34F and was confident when swimming and walking poolside.

The balconette cups lifted my boobs into (a better!) place. The legs were a little higher cut than I am used to, although my bottom was fully covered, and I did have to tug at the sides a little when getting up from my sunbed. However, I think the higher cut legs actually made my legs look longer, which was a bonus.

Comfort

At £75, this swimsuit is a bit more expensive than others I own, but I was very impressed with the quality of the fabric, which was silkier and more stretchy than the other cheaper brands. It felt luxurious and very comfortable to wear.

Care

Following the instructions on the label, I rinsed the swimsuit after every swim to remove any chlorine, and after my holiday, I hand-washed it using a mild detergent and laid it flat to dry. It took a little longer to dry than other thinner swimsuits.

Verdict

This is a well-designed swimsuit from a brand that really understands the needs of curvy women. The concealed balconette cups held me firmly in place and the tummy control lining ensured it retained its shape. This swimsuit is guaranteed to boost your confidence on the beach this summer.

<![CDATA[ Zoe Saldaña's on-trend cherry red look offers the perfect summer lift to our new season wardrobe ]]> Zoe Saldaña is no stranger to a bold outfit, but her most recent ensemble was the pop of colour we needed to inspire our summer wardrobe. Stepping out in an all-red ensemble, there was no missing the A-lister who looked exceptionally chic in her head-turning look.

In cherry red, one of this season's hottest hues, Zoe combined three separate items to create her block coloured style. The smart casual outfit idea was made up of a sleek, midi pencil skirt, a U-shaped sleeveless tank top and a nonchalantly shoulder-draped cardigan by Gia Studios, accented by Saint Laurent accessories and a smattering of Cartier jewels.

Tucking the tank top into the waistband of her skirt, Zoe Saldaña created an almost dress-like aesthetic. The straight up and down cut suited Zoe's silhouette, and the addition of the loosely tied cardigan gave the whole outfit a more sporty feel. Breaking up the tonal look, Zoe accented her outfit with bright white shoes to add a second focal point, as well as layering delicate fine jewellery, that despite its price tag still felt laidback.

One of the hottest hues of the season, cherry red is the colour to invest in

A big part of the spring/summer 2025 fashion trends, red tones have been a huge hit both on and off the runway, with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Jacquemus and Bottega Veneta all opting for this colour family, from burgundy and merlot to tomato tones, it's all about red right now.

A passionate colour, Zoe's outfit was perfect for a sunny day, the slit at the back of the pencil skirt ensured that despite the fitted silhouette, the star had plenty of movement in the look. Pairing the red with white gave the ensemble a summer-ready feel, as opposed to a festive one, Zoe finished off the outfit with some sleek tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Part of the sunglasses trends for 2025, tortoiseshell frames never really date, making them a fantastic investment piece for seasons to come. With a cat-eye inspired silhouette, Zoe's sunglasses are a pair she can turn to again and again.

When it comes to wearing this trending colourway, don't be afraid to go bold. Zoe's look proves that multiple red pieces together, when similar in tone, can look exceptionally chic, and playing with texture, such as adding a piece of knitwear for example can help to add depth and interest.

Get the look

Think about the balance of your overall outfit, not just in terms of colour and shape, but how your accessories complement your look. If you're wearing a bright hue, consider more muted and quiet jewellery items to help pull your outfit together, but there is no need for multiple elements to fight for attention.

Contrast is key here. Zoe Saldaña's all-over red look is made even more striking by adding white shoes. The white hue matches the skirt lining, making this outfit feel even more seamless, but it also helps to cement the colour as the main feature of this look.

If going for an all-over red look still feels too much, start injecting this trend into your wardrobe slowly. Try a red pair of shoes, a handbag or even just a new season scarf to slowly integrate the colour while you get comfortable with it.
